I was just wondering, how much time is your PS3 on in one day?

I turn it on for around an hour, two times a day. I never leave it on when I dont use it.

Depends, if im working then maybe for 3 hours. On the weekends however... All day long!

No, maybe for 3 hours straight, in total I would say 7 though.

24/7 with my 60 gig system. I have been doing this for about three or more years without a single hardware problem.

Just having the red light on doesn't count as "on" right? I usually turn the power switch off anyways after turning my system on. But yeah my PS3 is usually off when I'm not playing it. Sometimes it will stay on for a while if I'm charging something, or if I just leave it for whatever reason, and that's usually not that long anyways.

It's on for about an hour each week or less. I'm busy with classes and I need more games for it

A few hours. I never leave it on idly; not that it would likely affect anything in the long run but it's better to be safe.

Its the heating and cooling that causes the hardware failures so basically your being kind to your PS3, the chips expand and shrink in the heat and cold changes and over times impurities in the chip usually causes microscopic cracks and then your PS3 is about to end.

Around two hours for gaming, and probably another couple hours if I stream a Netflix movie, which I do about four or five times a week.

Are you saying that its better to turn it on for whole day, instead of turning it on and off 5 times a day?
