I was just playing COD 4 online and the game suddenly froze this is the first time a game has froze on me since iv had my PS3 (since July 08) im not that worried it might of been a bad internet conection, because my COD 4 game doesnt have a scratch on it, also i was just wondering is there any main reasons why your PS3 or PS3 games would freeze up on you?

Other than that, most other games will not run smoother once I run the PS3 for more than 12 hours , a bit lag even its offline game.(Is it bad for my PS3 console?)
Mine has recently started freezing on almost everything. Rock Band 2, CoD WaW, Far Cry 2(get disconnected from every online game, then frezzes) GTA IV hasen't froze yet though.
I'm about 2 freezes away from getting a new one, thank god I can afford it :)
The only game I can think of would be Assassins Creed. I remember having to turn off my system while keeping my fingers crossed that I would not have corrupted data. My system was fine, but it was aggravating. Also, Bioshock would studder/hiccup from time to time, but it never froze up.

What should you do when a game freezes i held down the standby button or whatever it was till it beeped and then one light stayed on blue and one flashed green then it just went to red is this what i should do when a game freezes?
The only game I have ever had freeze up was CoD:WW so I checked around and eventually turned off media sharing (which I did not want to do!!) and no more freeze-ups, and my system is wired. What's up with that??
dude it happens to me all the time. no game will even run for more than 2 minutes. apparently its the lens in the ps3, i recommend sending it to sony asap. beware of the long wait though. the sooner the better
I'm a bit worried to see no posts regarding inFAMOUS. I had two freezes in that game before getting my first platinum trophy. It has never froze on me before that game, and hasn't since. I'm worried because I recently moved and after a bit of SF4 gaming, inFAMOUS came next. I hope I didn't knock the lens a bit to cause slight errors or something like that. I'm always incredibly gentle and protective of the PS3 though, and of course, it's always well ventilated, so I don't think I'm in trouble...
