I did not get any video game for Xmas, and I wasn't expecting any ... but when I was younger I usually got 2 or 3 ...
How old is TOO OLD now that the electronic generation is shifting heavily?

No such thing. Saying that now is like saying someone is too old to watch movies._Doomsayer_
I like your style, but I'm sure if someone in a certain generation heard that someone is playing video games in the age brackets above, they would THINK they were too old.
I personally don't care. I'll play video games as long as I can see
I used to be able to play 8 hours in a day on 1 video game when I was a kid. I can't do that anymore but I do enjoy playing video games still. I know plenty of +30 year olds using their PS3 to play videogames but nowhere near when I used to play my genesis or nintendo. All my close friends have a PS3 so I guess we aren't too old yet.
I'm 38 and I don't think I'm too old for games. Most of the people who make video games are my age or older. I don't think there is an age limit.
i woudnt neccesarlily say who is TOO OLD to play video games, but ratehr who is TOO YOUNG to play video games.
Never the less, i would 41-to Yoda is too old ;)
I wish my parents or grand parents played video games. Then at least we could converse about something remotely interesting.

im over 30 and had 6 games under my tree this year. youre never too old to start doing anything. except maybe parkour or extreme rock climbing lol. my mother is nearly 60 and is now addicted sports champions for the move.try introducing them to something simple and easy to get into like above. ease em into it and maybe you'll be fighting your parental units over the controller. and enjoying hours of compelling rhetoric about your fav games.I wish my parents or grand parents played video games. I think more older people are playing nowadays than ever in the past. It may have to do with the technology of the graffics where game is almost like a movie ex. Uncharted 2, game concepts where some of them are MATURE rated and the features of game systems where "it does everything that includes movies and internet". And it helps that the PS3 looks very sleek and stylish with a TV unlike older game systems where adults are embarassed to put it out.
However I still scratch my head why so many older adults were buying Nintendo Wii which is a very "childish" system with a motion gimmick.
If you think you're too old for video games then you are. Take up bird feeding and wait to die.
My father is almost 67 and I keep him regularly supplied with FPS for the PC - he finished Call of Duty 4 before I did [ although he played it on easy :]
If anyone tells you're too old for video games, tell them to piss off and if you got no games for Christmas then buy your own.
Where's the option for "Never too old"? I'm 65 and LOVE GT5 and COD Black Ops. I started 'gaming' in the mid 80's on my high tech Atari 1040ST. Age has nothing to do with mindset. We oldsters are a lot cooler than we let on.... "wink"Duke_Slade007I am 50. Its so funny how these youngsters think video games are just for them. Keep on gaming man.

This is me in 2007.
You can't be too old, I'll be playing games by the time I'm 45 years old. And even then I won't stop.
Your latter option may have applied when videogames were in their infancy and the stigma of gaming by generations past wasn't a pretty one. My parents fail to understand why at my age I still enjoy gaming, when they were my age it was unheard of. I've tried countless times to explain to then that when they were my age the 1st generation of gaming consoles had just been released and unlike people their age, I grew up with gaming. I wouldn't at all be surprised if I'm still getting my game on when I hit Yoda's age! ;)
IMO it's not about age, gamers are gamers no matter how old you are and there's nothing wrong with that. It's about your interests in the games themselves and how those interests change as you grow older. Some (like me) start to care less and less about games as their main source of entertainment as they age and some don't. Preference.
There's no such thing as being too old for any type of media, i.e. books, movies, tv, games, etc... Games are just a different medium for entertainment. If anyone says otherwise then they don't understand gaming nor games.

^ I doubt they would understand much of anything. Having fun, having a hobby, making your own decisions without listening to someone whining about you being too old, enjoying your life.
Gabu said it about playing Pokemon games but it's true for this
One of the surest signs of true maturity, and one of the first requirements for profound contentedness in life, is reaching the state where you no longer care whether or not what you're doing in private is mature.GabuEx
