I will have to show this to my ENTIRE family because they seem to think since I turned 30, I am too old to play video games. Iappreciate everyone's opinions on the question

[QUOTE="_Doomsayer_"]No such thing. Saying that now is like saying someone is too old to watch movies.CBottom7
I like your style, but I'm sure if someone in a certain generation heard that someone is playing video games in the age brackets above, they would THINK they were too old.
I personally don't care. I'll play video games as long as I can see

My dad is 52 and still plays games, and that's not unheard of. If you think you're ever "too old" to do something you enjoy, it's your loss.
I don't your ever too old to play video games. Games can appeal to anyone these days especially with the amount of variety.
Just turned 36, and I'm more into gaming than ever before, spanning all the way to the Atari 2600. Fortunately, my wife enjoys it too so there isn't much arguing over who get the tube. ;)
It depends on what generation you ask.
I'm 25 and I only got really into gaming about 3 years ago when I found out you could mod 360's. Not having to pay for games broadened my gaming horizons. Before I only played sports games and the GTA series.
Now I own a PS3 and Xbox 360 and I pay for my games, but because I got them free for awhile I found a bunch of new types of games I liked so now I buy more. I don't condone piracy, but in reality the brief time I had a modded console lead me to love gaming more and because of that Microsoft and Sony make a TON more money off of me.
I don't have the time to play a whole lot. Matter of fact I have like 6-7 games from 2010 I still want to play, but when I do have time like a good 3 day weekend or something I find it very relaxing to be able to take a weekend off and just play games and catch up on TV shows with my g/f. Also I am a basketball coach so I have a lot of time off during the summer/christmas months so it is nice to have another hobby. We don't get vacations like teachers do, but we only practice a few hours a day during those times.
My grandparents are 77 and they were given a Wii and Wii Fit for Christmas and they NEVER really used the Wii Fit, but they started playing Tennis and GOLF of all things on there. Everytime I go to visit now I have to play Wii Golf with my grandparents and neither of them are interested in golf or have ever played it in real life, but they play the video game.
Video games are like computers.....they are associated with young people only because older people didn't grow up with them. Once older adults learned how to use computers they became a part of every day life.....video games are becoming the same way.
Video games are soon going to be looked at like movies and music to the majority of people. Music like Tupac and movies are being studied in college classes as forms of art and I think in the next 25 years or so video games will be looked at like that as well.
As long as you able to play them. The home videogaming industry is 38 years old. In the end it is just entertainment. So whenever the individual decides to give up the ghost. or if you get carpel tunnel syndrome. arthritis or something that eventually causes you to give up gaming.
Or you just lose interest in playing videogames. Eventually all the stories will be told and Graphics can only improve to the point of being photorealistic. You will have no new inovatations eventually. Then you may lose interest in gaming.
Until then enjoy playing videogames. I'm 38 years old and slowing down on my gaming compared to when I was younger. The oldest gamer I know is 52 years old.
Elderly people don't play many videogames because it wasn't around when they were growing up. I bet 50 years from now there will be a larger portion of elderly ones still able to maintain their skills and pwn noobs. However, 50 years from now there will be something new and foreign to this generation and most of us won't even care to touch it.
There's no such thing. Only ignorance would consider such a thing, here's why..
You're never too old to watch TV
You're never too old to read a book
You're never too old to watch movies
You're never too old for computers
You're never too old for your cell phone
You're never too old for music
The idea of being "too old" to play games is an antiquated idea.
Thatthought doesn't hold up anymore. They make games for everyone now. Not just childen and teenagers.
It's not like the old days.
I think gaming is an ageless hobby.
Okay, a 50-year-old man born in 1960. He was 17 when Atari released their first game console. How is it then that this dude is too old to play games?
Is that a "chocohorse" in your gaming icon ?:) I'm 32 and am gaming since I'm 5 . I don't feel too oldI think gaming is an ageless hobby.

Perfect answer.
That ? doesn't make much sense,,,,All adults 18-98
that like gaming/console/computers/board games/playing cards/socalizing,,etc should play,,play,,play
Gaming is good for the brain(exercise),I work in Health Care
an see a lot of older ppl sitting around doing nothing. It is a provin fact if u don't use it u will lose it
Learning new things and staying active is a must for ppl that are getting along in yrs,,and for all adults regardless of age.
There thinking is clearer they feel better/look better and are generally a happier person with a more positive mood and in better Health generally.
This is true with all adults regardless of age 18-108
I play Demons Souls/Assassins Creed's/Bioshock/Resistance 2/Uncharted series/God of War series/TF2,,etc
Btw I'm 51 yrs old
Although I'm older than most here I was surprised with the well thought out and clear points ppl were making here concerning age n gaming
So ppl go motivate ur parents n grandparents to get with the new way of entertaining one self
plus it great for the mind,,and if they get the PS move there getting some exercise as well
