2. I don't really care. My PS3(60gb) is better than anyone else's ps3s right now. And I got my PS3 price matched anyways, so it means I got it after the first price cut, so I would actually be in the best position of having a PS3 than anyone right now.

i really don't care. if you guys are so upset about the price drops, you should have waited atleast a year or more to buy a PS3. Those who bought one when it first launched should be happy, not only do you guys play PSX and PS2 games but you got to enjoy the games before those who didn't have one. And i'm glad that the price is dropping because i'm planning on buying another PS3.

thats just business, and they are just trying to stay competitive in their pricing. what i really didnt like is the white ps3 in japan, i wanted that when they first showd them all. but it figured that we'd only see black till now. though i can still use my scren name i have on a new system if i got 1.i would have to figure a way out so i could use the content i have purchased from the ps store on the new system.

I got my 60gb at launch and I'm happy to hear these price drops. I gladly chose to fork over a bunch of money to enjoy my PS3 much earlier than people that are buying now, and now more people will buy PS3's due to the price drops.

Price drop = more PS3 sales = developers putting more $ into PS3 games = better P3 games = Happy me. Nuff said. 5

Been playing video games long enough to know this happens- one of the "hazards" of early adopting. In the case of the PS3 I think i still have the better end of the deal as i have the hardware-based emulation for PS2 games so i don't need two machines to play any upcoming PS2 games i may want to check out (Twisted Metal: Head On Extra Twisted Edition as an example). Those wanting BC now are SOL unless they find themselves an 80 GB, which doesn't do the job quite as well with the software based BC.

A BIG FAT 0

No amount of money saved could have bought the excitment I felt in the months, weeks & days leading up to the PS3 launching for the first time. And don't even talk to me about the night before NO SLEEP CENTRAL!! I even took the day off work the day it came out.

Guess what I'll do exactly the same all over again when the PS4 comes out!!!!!!

0,its a business were talking about. A person must be very dense to think the ps3 bundles were going to stay at the same price over time and not see new bundles with extra things introduced as they appear on the market. Keep your cool.

0/10. Price drops are inevitable with everything from consoles, cars, clothes, etc. It is bound to happen. To AVOID being pissed over something so silly, you guys should wait over a year and two to buy your consoles and not buy them at launch. Of course when something launches, you are going to pay maximum dollars. If you want a while, you're more than likely to find it much cheaper. So don't get so worked up over something that YOU HAVE CONTROL OVER if you just wait a while :-)

0. i know what im doing when buying electronics. i know when i buy something, there won't be a great amount of time before the price drops. but thats how it works. i could've waited for the ps3's price to drop, but i was the 1st person i know to buy a ps3and i dont really care about paying a bit more to get something right as it comes out. i dont make impulse buys, i do research before i buy anything major, like a new console or tv, or computer. so i expect the price to drop, but while people wait, i'll enjoy my $600 machine.SpYkMo

My same exact thoughts, unless this is your first console you ever bought (even then you had to do research), there really is no excuse for complains.

I got to play the PS3 many months before majority if folks waited and that alone justifies 600$ 60GB console. I have no regrets.

That's how the market works and will continue. Yes, there probably will be another version, price drop, more bundles etc..

Do you want to enjoy it now, or months and years later?

No other console is different, every electronic and technology is the same. :)

As with anything electronic, be it computers, tvs, cell phones or video game consoles the prices are bound to drop. You buy early you pay a premium, you wait you save. Simple, it hasn't changed since the dawn of retail electronics. History people, learn from it.

0. It happens with all electronics. The way I see it I've got the 6oGB and I've enjoyed the PS3 for alot longer than the people that waited for the price drop and to me that's worth more than a couple of hundred dollars I would have saved if I waited.

No, especially with the newer ones....they're cheaper because you get less. Like on the 40 GB there are only 2 USB ports and less memory etc.....plus the prices are going to vary, especially from lauch day to a couple of years after its been out.

Here's a question. Would you rather have an issue like the rumble, where it CAN be added after being missed? OR, would you rather have items like HDMI, whicxh cannot be added, to be missed?

I think we all know which is better.

It sure as heck beats the $324 I paid for the Saturn over a decade ago. I paid $499 for a PS3 then an additional $200 for a 250 gig drive. Still seems like a sweet deal compared to the Saturn, Sega CD or my all time favorite the 32X. Take consolation that at least Bill Gates is not going to give your money away.

I knew that the price would drop eventually that's why I held out for a year before buyig mine. What pissed me off was when I was ready to buy, the 60gb was already discontinued and had to settle for the 80gb with software emulation...

0 here. I could care less. I'm glad I spent 600 on my PS3 when I did. If hadn't and tried to wait on a price drop, I know there's a good chance I would have spent my money on one of the other systems and be missing out on the PS3. I had already made up my mind for this generation of gaming: whatever console I get, I was gonna stick with it because I will shell out more money for a second and third major console when I already have one (I don't believe in trading in either).

I mean for guys who bought a PS3 early off for the big bucks, and now they see all these price drops and new model and new controller being introduced, how does that make you feel? (Use the PissedOmeter: at a scale where 10 is most pissed, and 0 is least pissed).

I ask this for economic concerns. Thanks for respond.

Deepcut9

Anyone, and I mean anyone, who goes out to be any type of electrionic, could be PS3, 360, Wii, PC's, MAC's, even a bloody microwave, must know that in the future the prices will drop. It's common knowledge, truly, and I bought my 80 gig as soon as I could and now that the 120 gig is coming out (?? is it?) I could really care less. In the end that's just more people to play with, more people to have something in common with. In some situations I wno't buy a system if its to expensive and I don't think it's worth it, such as the 360. It's a good system and I don't deny that some people are having fun with it, but its shady past with problems makes me careful about it, and I will buy it when its price lowers again and they get the newest chips, (newer then the new ones already in it >.>) so, thats a big fat 0 for me!

As said above ^^^^^^^ up there.

Basically you are paying to be the first to have and try it out before anyone else is willing to jump in and get it also, essentially. It's called the early-adopter consumer.

0/10, I bought my Ps3, because I wanted it back then and not later. Or else I would have had waited 10 years later for it to be 120$ and had the latest manifactured hardware fixes and suches. With that set of mind, I would have killed myself since my car went from 13,000$ when I bought it and is now valued at 6,000$ or so.

0/10 - Everyone knows that a console will get a reduced price the longer it is out. Personally, I have no patience and couldn't even wait for my dual shock 3, but to me its worth it even if I dont get to play as often as I'd like.

I vote a 3.

Semi low because I bought a PS3 when I wanted it. It was worth the 500 bones (purchased the 60GB model off of Amazon). I only feel bad for those who have yet to get one for themselves and are being routed by all of the indecision by Sony marketing. To buy now or wait for another release of the console some 4 months from now.

I'm not pissed I'm happy , the more PS3 is sold the more games we'll get. the more people buy PS3's the more online will grow. so if you got the 60GB then be happy that you got the better version out of all the other version.

2. Electronics always drop in price, it's nothing new. And early adopters pay the price. Besides, the 60 GB is considered the best out of all 4 models.

if it was only a couple of weeks you could've taken it back.

Depends on the place, most places have a 30 day return policy.
