How to hack the computer at fallout 3??

Hacking is really annoying and hard.

IF you have the science, activate the computer console.

Then it'll give you a wall of characters, with some words thrown in there.

SLOWLY, move along EVERY character, ALL OF THEM. You'll notice sometimes you highlight a string of characters. If you press X on here, it'll say "Removed Dud" or "Replenished allowances" Removing all the duds will making guessing the passwords alittle easier, but it's still a guessing game.

Usually I guess 3 times, and then look for all the duds and have a chance to get a replenish allowances.

It depends on what you're hacking. Sometimes you'll turn off gun turrets. Sometimes you turn on Gaurd Robots, sometimes you get information for quests.

when you're trying to hack and you guess wrong. It will say something like "Incorrect passphrase 1/5 correct" The 1/5 or 1/6 or whatever number of letters the password has gives you hints.

It tells you how many letters in the word you picked are correct. Which helps you narrow down the selection of passwords.

Let me know what you think or if you have any problems using it. It may seem kind of slow... it tries to do the calculations on the server. I'm not sure if that's the best way to do it yet.

The purpose of the app that I wrote is to remove the time that it takes to count how many letters words have in common. All you have to do is enter each word in exactly once and it suggests a word for you (which you don't have to choose). When you click 3/5 for a particular word then it filters the list for you showing you all of the words that are left which had 3/5 letters in common. There are some cases where the first word you choose would not allow you to get the correct word in four tries, but they appear to show up very rarely. It's just easier to let something else do the thinking for you =).
