As long as you have codecs on your PC which allow video files to run on Windows Media Player (videos which by default don't run on WMP) then it should run fine. I set up Tversity to work with my PS3 in about 15 minutes and was surprised how easy it was, and about 99% of the videos, music, pictures I was trying to view on the PS3 through Tversity worked, however a small minority were not supported because of the file extension they had. But basically it works very well and easily. I don't know how well it deals with HD videos though, I don't have a HDTV. For Tversity to be able to stream HD videos to your PS#, you would need a pretty good PC as well, something I don't have.
I agree wih pandadude, tversity works perfectly, especially for movies.
I would recommend that, if you can, you network the ps3 with cat5 setup rather than wireless - it streams that much quicker so things start quicker. its just a better user experience that way.

What could you possibly be streaming that is more the 54mbps? Blu Ray tops out at 49 and I am sure you are not streaming 1080p material in uncompressed 7.1 audio.... Wireless or Wired should not effect the user experience unless something is set up incorrectly on your router. Ican't imagine it being Tversity? Not sure though.
And technology always works how it is supposed to, doesnt it?
Seriously though, the wireless option was just too slow in practice for streaming movies - maybe because i have tversity transcoding the files on the fly......
I have TVersity setup wirelessly and stream videos at 1900x1080 (1080p) on HDTV and it streams perfectly. I also have a killer router though (DLink DIR-655). Videos run seamlessly. The only thing I hate, is if you press "Back" by accident while watching a movie.... it won't let you fastward or seek to get you to the right spot.... Happened a couple of times while moving around on the couch. This is not the case if your running videos that the supported by the PS3, then the act as if they were on your hard drive (fastward, rewind, go to, etc..). Videos that need to be converted by TVersity will not let you do that.
I have a old wired Linksys router (I hear Linksys are the best) and A Duo2 with 2 gigs and vista. It's a wired connection, I dont have the PS3 yet... Has anyone tryed .mkv or x264 hd videos yet?

I have a Wanadoo Livebox with 1024Meg connexion, it works well but some codecs are not handled well by TVersity so I have to copy files to PS3 before reading (faster connexion should be fine but we're Internet retarded in France)
