Surely you mean that if you want to download games, get the PSP Go? You can't use UMDs with the Go, the games are download only...

Yes ps3tiser, the PSP slim is good. Make sure you read reviews before buying games though, some of the big franchises ported from the PS3 / Xbox 360 are rather half arsed, there will be some games you've never heard of before that are much better. Tell me your favorite type of game and I'll recommend you some if you want.
