The friendly sort please. I am just barely able to get 3 starson the first set on Medium. Using my pinky is really difficult. Any practice techniques from better players would be welcome.

Honestly, just do your best at playing on Hard right now..if you can pass the first two sets on hard, you should be able to 5* most of medium with ease, due the the faster paced action and more notes + an orange note...It was good practice for me when I was making the jump between easy and medium.

Go back to easy if you cant do medium.Medium in the earlier songs shouldnt be too hard at all!

Definetly go back to easy it seems like you need more practice.

I've got 5 starts on every song except the Slayer one, can only get 3 stars on that one. I'm talking more about techniques to get my pinky to do what I want.

You just need to practice on some faster songs to get used to using your pinky. That's what I did on transitioning from medium to hard, and after a couple weeks now I five star a lot of songs on Expert.

Yeah, I was thinking that was what I was going to hear. I enjoy the game regardless, I just get frustrated because I want to be able to compete on a higher level. At least an average player on Hard would satisfy me, I guess I just need to put the hours in.

Just curious, but did anybody else's hands cramp up and ache while learning this game? Man my pinky would just lock into a bad position while playing on easy, being forced to use it on medium helped a little, but ow.

yeah it took me practice since guitar hero one to get my pinky good. Now I play on hard but it took me like 2 years to get there

if you think useing your pinky is diffcult then don't use it and just move your fingers fast enough to reach the pinky notes

your hand strength is weak. try this - play on easy but dont use your ring finger, and use your pinky there instead. your hand will build strength in both your pinky and ring finger since holding your ring finger away is not natural movement. Nobody has a strong pinky when starting out, you need to build up the dexterity in it to get the results you want.

Imagine trying to play the real guitar..... You need your pinky on a much smaller target, using much more pressure to get your reaction.

as every band teacher has said. PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT. although i disagree with that.

Edit: practice makes you better.

I've beaten the game on expert and i got good at the game by playing over and over again on gh2.

ok here is useful advise, put on hyper mode (look it up) that will make the notes come at u faster but they are spaced apart more. it is hard at first but becomes a must and makes it more fun. another u can do to strengthin ur pinky is play songs with a rubber band around the fingers of the hand u use to fret. i know it sounds dumb but it works trust me my friend did it and he can 5 star Jordan on expert. (i would but i dont care enough to put a rubberband around my habd i can play expert just fine)
