I am thinking of buying a PS3. Any advices?

I have been using my 360 for 2.5 years now. It's time to buy a PS3. Almost every single one of my friends own a PS3 and none of them have a 360.

Since I will be new to the PS3 and it's exclusives, do you have any suggestions or games that you suggest?

When you make your PSN ID, make sure you really love it, because you can't change it, so any Trophies you have on there and downloadable purchases you have saved on that is stuck on that PSN ID.

Make PSN accounts for other regions like Europe, North America, and Japan, so you can sign on there and download demos and other goodies not available on your region.

Black Friday and other holiday sales are just around the corner, so maybe you can wait till then to get one for a really good price.

If you're not in too much of a hurry, I'd wait for the 250GB model to come out on Nov. 3. $50 more for twice the hard drive space. For games, Uncharted 2 is all the rage. The first game is very good too, and it's only $27 now. I had a ton of fun with Motorstorm Pacific Rift, if you like racing games. For shooters, there's Resistance Fall of Man and Killzone 2. A lot of people seem to be enjoying Demon's Souls as well, but it's very hard. The God of War collection (a pair of PS2 games remastered in HD for the PS3) are coming out Nov. 17. They're only $37 for two of the best PS2 games of all time. They'll get you ready for God of War 3, which is coming out on April 1. And Gran Tourismo 5 is coming out around then as well.

buy the cheaper sku. take the mony u saved and buy a 320 or 500gig HDD. uncharted2,mgs4,are a couple great games to start with.

that is an excellent decision, good sir. there's a more in-depth game recommendation sticky you can find in these forums, but my suggestions would be: Uncharted 1 and 2 (rent 1), MGS4 (if you played and liked any or all of it's prequels), Infamous, Valkirya Chronicles (for you unique RPG fix), and KZ2 (just in case you were interested in a good exclusive FPS).

I would also recommend Disgaea 3, but it's really for hardcore level/weapon grinding fans... if that's what you're into, you might want to check it out.

oh and buy the 120gig slim, no need to wait for the 250gig. roughly speaking, it's $50 more for an extra 130gigs of space... if that's fine with you, then by all means get the 250gig...

i personally think the 120gigs is plenty of space, but that's just me.

This. Having a ps3 totally rocks! However, I hear it's harder to upgrade the HDD on slims. Don't quote me on it, though.

The PS3 is an awesome system, get it.

The games I recommend are Bioshock, Uncharted 2, Dead Space and Batman: Arkham Asylum

Buy the 120GB Slim PS3. Or you can buy the 250GB slim PS3 coming out in a few weeks. But no one really needs that much space.

Games to buy are Uncharted 1, Uncharted 2, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Demon Souls, Metal Gear Solid 4, Infamous, Killzone 2, Little Big Planet, Resident Evil 5, Ratchet and Clank. These games should help you get started.

get the ps3 60 gb version

because it has backwards compatibility and itcan use linux

get a 500 gb internal hardrive for it too

and get 50 dollar psn card

dont get those stick on ps3 skins, it ruins the shine of ps3, makes streaks on ps3s glossy finish

get a arcade stick with sanwa buttons and a tv with 1080p with 120 hz

get a usb extension cord to play your game while far away from tv

get a 16 gb memory card duo for when u get a 1080p camcorder or psp 3000

Don't game share with anyone you don't really know or can't come see at any time. Matter of fact, just game share with family.

Buy a blue tooth headset, the official Sony one that comes with Socom is good.

If you buy a Slim, you'll need to get that stupid over price plastic veritical stand. I recommend just make it horizontal.

Buy an extra controller.
