I hope you picked up an HDMI cable to go with your PS3 because it does NOT include one. That's all you need for beautiful HD visuals with your PS3. Congrats. I hope you picked up some great games to go with it.

Well, if your tv supports 1080p, get yourself and HDMI cable, any kind works. Well, if your tv supports HDMI at all, get one anyway for the best picture quality.

It really depends on the level of high-def your tv has. To experience the full potential of the games on your TV you would need a 1080p TV. 1080i is the next one down but that looks good too. But before you can experience hi-def gaming for your tv you need an HDMI cord for your PS3 to hook into the HDMI plug in your tv. They run for about $30-$60. The actual sony brand cords are about $60 bucks last time I checked but you can get off-brands for cheaper. If you don't have them just use the AV cords they should be sufficient until you get the HDMI cord. The PS3's graphics are good on any tv. haha. Have fun with your new system.

I picked up a 10ft HDMI cable from NewEgg.com for8 bucks =P DO NOT buy one at Best Buy or a box chain, cables are one product they mark up brutally. Hit up the aforementioned website.

If your HDTV supports HDMI, then go get an HDMI cable off a website like newegg. If your HDTV does not support HDMI, then just get a component cable. The Sony branded component cables are about $20, but you can find it cheaper online as well.

There's no need for a HDMI cable. The cables that come with it also works.

True enough, but since he has an HDTV... I am 100% positive that he wants to get the most out of his games/movies :).

If you want to have your DVD movies upscaled you'll need the HDMI cable. It really is the best option for the PS3 if your tv supports it..

You're going to need to get an HDMI cable for the PS3 if you want the best picture possible from that console. I'd suggest you not buy an HDMI cable at those retail stores like Best Buy, Circuit City, etc., and get it from newegg.com. You can find an HDMI cable for around $20 at a reasonable length as well.

there is HDMI and HDMI 1.3. These are both compatible with the PS3 but all TVs out right now take just HDMI. 1.3 would still work, but will not do what 1.3 is supposed to. So basically... ANY HDMI WILL WORK lol...... get it from monoprice.com
