I can't believe this happened to me...

Ok so yesterday I had come back exhausted from training and got out of my car and I wanted to play Oblivion really bad. So when i went inside the hous, my parents were out, and I went into the living room (where my PS3 is) and I couldn't move.... What i saw was shocking....On the floor lay my Sony Bravia XBR 46" completely shattered!!!!!! You know what else happened? I found my PS3 completely destroyed! I could not believe it! All last night i was like O_O !! I looked around a bit more and I think i knew what happened....The stand(one of those multi-media stand thingies) that the HDTV and the PS3 were on was frigged up, one wheel was crippled completely and my guess is that that wheel went faulty which resulted in the HDTV and PS3 toppling over, resulting in the HDTV crashing ontop the PS3!

I was so shocked! I still have the games, yeah, but That HDTV costed me 2.5k of savings and my parents paid the rest....I bought the 60gb PS3 at launch...and now their both destroyed. I asked my parents if they'd buy another HDTV and a PS3 and they were like all No that their going to instead put the old TV we had and that I have to take "responsibility" and stuff. Sorry if this is off-topic a bit (might get locked lol) but i wanna know what I should do. I have about 3k in savings and was wondering if I should wait for the 120-160GB PS3's or even the MGS 4 special edition one....and a HDTV lol

First thing I would try to do is call Sony and ask what they can do, maybe they can fix the HDTV for an amount, don't know. Don't hurt trying.

They have not announced a 120-160 GB PS3 so I think it is best to buy the MGS and 80 GB PS3 bundle when it comes out.

Yeah, I know the panorama is bleak, but he should exhaust all the possibilities before calling it quits and starts "saving up" again...

Anyways, if he finds a clause he can exploit, and moves on it, he might be able to get some kind of compensation. I wouldn't get my hopes up, but it's worth a try. Good luck, dude!

at first i thought someone tried to rob ur house or something. thats a horrible story but just remember...it could be worse. Honestly i have a few games but i am bored with my ps3. I use it more to play movies or something. I have my ps2 hooked up to my other tv and i play that a lot when i wanna play games. If you were addicted to your ps3 i guess its worse for you, but if i were you, i would just wait.

I regret buying my ps3 at launch and wish i waited because no games have really come out and they slowly release updates. we havent even got in game xmb or home yet. prices for ps3s have dropped and i am stuck with the discontinued sixaxis as well. so if i were you, i would just save my money and wait like a year for the really good games to come out, and there might even be more price drops. even for video games u get price drops on ebay after 3 months. so i would wait, but if you don't want to wait like a yr i would at least wait for the mgs4 bundle , you are just wasting money and time otherwise.

Well i phoned our Home Owner's insurance company and they said they can't do nothing about it lol and to phone the stand company. So i took my liberty and phoned em. You know what they said? They said their not responsible for it and that it wasn't built for 40" + HDTV's and it's not their fault...when the stand clearly said on a big sticker....FOR 42" or more HDTV'S!!!!!! The company is BSING me!

The reason I was really like want to have some fun right now is because I'm really liking Oblivion and CoD 4 and my mom already pre-ordered the DualShock 3 controller for me. I'm not like obsessed over my PS3, I mean I train for about 5 hours for Track & Field and play for about 2 hours....playing helps me relieve stress and have fun lol. But that's not what I'm pissed about now! That dam stand company is playing me like a fool....the stand is like one of these.

But the stand has like mini-ish wheels and stuff....I googled the 160GB PS3's andthey said their rumored to be coming out but I'm just gunna buy a normal 80GB one or a MGS one....i just wanna have some fun before i go into "study-mode" for my exams :(

Aw man I feel your pain something similar happened to me with my first ps3. If you got the money cop a new one but I suggest you wait for the MGS4 bundle.

This is good advice. I would check asap. Because of the high value of the tv and not to mention the ps3 insurance should replace it although you'll have to pay a deductable. I'm sure the deductable will be cheaper than paying for a new tv/ps3

Here's a cheapening alternative. Check out Sam's Club if there is one nearby. They take forever to ship out their old stuff. I saw a 20/60GB there a few weeks ago. Get one of those and just buy an internal HDD off of a site like ubid (i got a 100GB 7200RPM for $50 there). That should get you started out. I'm sure you can find a same or better quality tv now for a lot cheaper than what you payed if you check around or online (or save yourself from that problem occuring again and get a projector!). I'm really sorry for you. I trully vizualized your story.

you know what sux though if you even buy a new ps3 you have to restart oblivion and other games from scratch, unless u can get your HDD

id find a scam website and put ur exprience espicailly if it an online company at least u might help someone else from buying from them

Thats why after I paid 3K for my tv I got the warranty from the store. A extra 500 but they said crap like that and other stuff is covered for 5 years. BTW where are the pics?
