Don't get me wrong, I love the ps3, long time sony fan. But either they didn't make the firmware right to really bring up the menu fast enough. If your playing COD4, it comes out fine. And then play some MGS4(single player) and try to bring up the menu. huge amounts of laggg. I know now why you don't have to worry about cheating online because by the time you finish your message the person has already moved to a new spot lol :shock: They do need to fix the XMB, just checking the messages is a pain.

I think its not that bad, but yeah they can improve it a lot, i mean we dont need the WHOLE xmb with options we cant use :opsyum
Yeah i don't even complain about the music not being a option for most games, but they should make it smaller to pull up. Since you can't access everything, just have up what you can use. SOme system settings, Photo(dont care, but some people do), messaging.

same here. But I know people that have lag with it. Imo, its ok right now, most likely in future updates it will include more uses and allow us to access more stuff from the game.

What annoys me is how long it takes to load trophies. Other than that there isn't really much to ask for.
Don't worry just give sony time. They are working hard and they're doing great so far. They will continue to make in-game xmb run smoother with update firmware. So far warhawk, stardust hd, bowling velocity, and others just to name a few have in-game music which is great and soon more titles will have in-game music. Just have faith my friends and sony will pull it through. :)

My point is that we asked for ingame XMB they gave it to us, while they have intentions to build upon it while some people say its not even real ingame XMB and we shouldn't of even got it like this. You ask for this, you get it, then you complain, it makes no sense, and they are putting a lot of effort into features the consumers want because we give them money and their jobs. No matter what they are going to continue to give us things we want and improve things and even though they are doing that people still complain. If you are like the other people, once you get the trophies to load faster you'll probably complain about something else to do with the same issue, the trophies and you will say its the worst thing ever and Sonys retarded and blah blah.
Correct me if im wrong but the xmb takes up alot of RAM, i know here you are coming from its very slow to load, i think they should have scrapped the in games xmb in favour of a simpler menu, which has, friends online, and messgaes
I see this in two perspectives. 1, the in game XMB will only get better with the updates. I'm sure it took MS a dozen of updates to get in game XMB for the 360 right. 2, if we don't complain, although i hate ppl who just complain for no reason, companies will see no need to improve. just my 2 cents
I think a lot of gamer are expecting too much from XMB. A lot of games may be didn't account for this function in development. thus we have the problems.
