I fear for MGS4....

.....ever since god of war : chains of Olympus got a 8.5 on this site cause of aaron thomas :roll: ......ive been thinking what score they will give MGS4.....thats why i was think that i would leave GS forever before the MGS4 comes out good score or bad....i mean god of war : chains of Olympus was on a handheld for christ sake. Why are you letting reviews/reviewers block your judgement? I'm tired of hearing about reviews/reviewers from this site and how they act towards sony. Grow up! If you had a mind of your own it wouldn't matter what any site gave this game or any other.

Theres no chance that MGS4 will turn out to be anything less than totally awesome.

I don't understand why so many people are hung up on the ratings. If you think a game is going to be good or great then get it and play it for yourself. A 8 or a 8.5 isn't a bad rating from a scale from 1 to 10 so I don't know people get upset. Get what you like and what you want no matter what the score is. Good Grief!!!

I don't understand why yall are complaining. you can finish the game in just 4 hours. With games like GTA for the psp, which lastest 20-30 hours, there's no reason why god of war would get anymore than 8.5. Replay value is a major determinator in a games score, unfortunately, this game doesn't offer much in that category.

GS is trully biased (actually, any game reviewer is), and there are examples for better (FFXII, K&L) reviews and for worst (R&C). In the case of MGS, it could work for better, as I knew it is going to get over 9 since the moment they announced it... It is that predictable (and it does not depends on the quality of the game at all)

Want to see some objective ranking (not review)? Go to gameranking or metacritic...

So my question to you is, what are you getting so upset?? COD 4 is by far one of the best games, yes it's single player is short, but if you play on a harder difficutly it wil last a long time but the biggest bonus for that game is it's online component.

I have a hard time believing you finished Uncharted in six hours since I have a friend who extremely rushed through it and couldn't do it in less then 8 hours.

My first run was clocked at 11 hours and second time at 10 on default difficulty. The game doesn't need a multiplayer, not all games do.

I'll take a great story driven single player game over multiplayer any time of the day.

The question to you is why would you pay any money to watch movie, to rent movie, to buy tv and watch tv, to read book?

Do they have replay value? Nope. Do most poeple watch them? Yes. Do they watch their favorite shows or read their favorite books again and again? Yes.

So why you, who fails to appreciate great QUALITY works, who only likes random, mindless killing, who can only value repetitively gaming non-sense online, think you are better than others.

Why would you, who can only put value on quantity appreciate a good story, a good game at all? Call other poeple girly mans? Look who's the only couple of poeple who's crowling here to try get some attention?

by the way, if you dare to play uncharted in crushing difficulty, it might take you forever to beat it. But lenth and repetition isn't value, but I guess you will never understand that.

Rather a game need online or not depends on the game. Comparing COD 4 to Uncharted and Ratchet and Clank is stupid to say the least. COD 4 is built to be a multiplayer experience, which is not the case with Uncharted and Ratchet and Clank. Both games are story driven and are built from the ground up to be a single player experience and Naughty Dog and Insomniac did one hell of a job.

And like you said, COD 4 is short, but when being played on a harder difficulty will last you a long time. The same can be said with Uncharted and Ratchet and Clank and heck it can be said with any games.

Would you want to play a game that is built for single player to include a crappy multiplayer mode? I certainly don't. People seem to be confuse with the fact that ALL game needs to have some kind of multiplayer mode to be successful, which is not the case. Yes, adding multiplayer adds more value to the game, but if a game isn't built to be a multiplayer experience then I don't want the developer to add a crappy multiplayer mode into the game, which will only devalue the game. I'd take a story driven game over online multiplayer anyday.

Who cares what it gets here? I'm sure all of us are buying the game anyway. I don't need GS to validate my purchase of the game.

I find it hard to believe that one site can provoke that much fear for videogamers. This site is going to give MGS4 above an 8.5. This site or reviewers on this site might be biased against the ps3 but they have never given an MGS game a really bad score. Either way MGS4 is going to be a solid game. As far as this game goes it pretty safe to say that the MGS games over the years are almost light years so to speak ahead of the competition when compared to other action/adventure games released around the same time.

When I look back at MGS2 it was a good 3 to 4 years ahead in videogame technology compared to the other games. Just compare MGS2 with splinter cell and you will realize just how good MGS is. MGS2 came out a whole year before splinter cell did and look at how much better MGS2 is compared to it. I would say MGS2 is several years more advanced than splinter cell.
