I just got my ps3 and connected it to the TV with and HDMI-DVI cabel but i dont get any picture.

Some guy told me i had to use the scart cabel and change to Dvi on the settings so i tried but when i enter the diffrent video signals my tv can handle (720p etc) and it tests them it just goes black and back to the scart, what am i doing wrong?

Btw i havent updated to 1.6 yet, doing it now.

If you are using an HDMI to DVI switcher you have to make sure your display supports HDCP. Unless you don't have the correct resolutions chosen in the video settings I'd guess your display doesn't support HDCP so you will have to use Component. Unfortunately HDMI was created to address security concerns with the DVI format and the PS3 conforms to the HDCP standard when using HDMI for output.
