Nice. Did you buy an enclosure as well so you could use the old drive as an external drive?

I was gonna put a 7200 rpm on mine but i was watching reviews that it said it might conflict on something and it didnt matter anyways.

Right now i have a Seagate 500GB 5400rpm on mine. Put in everything myself its really easy to do takes like 5minutes. Backing up your harddrive can take over 3hours.

I'm curious as to how much they charged you for that.

What? Wow, that's a bad ripoff. You can buy a 500GB HD and do the whole thing yourself for $75.

I can understand why you would want to pay to have that done esp. if your not too techy. It's a bit steep. Not trying to be rude and I don't know how old you are but a little knowledge goes a long way. I would highly recommend doing some research on a tech subject before paying to have the work done.

Can you tell me after the HDD was swapped, did you have to re-enter you psn password to log back in or was it still saved. The reason why i ask is b/c i have multiple accounts on my ps3 for the three different regions and i dont remember my password for my japan/european accounts and trying to avoid making new ones.

Geek Squad is a huge ripoff. There are probably a hundred videos on youtube that can show you how to do all that and even then you probably wouldnt need to watch them. Backing up the data would probably be the only hard part but then if you have an external drive you could just use that then install the new HDD (which i wouldnt get a 7200 since that speed equals more power and heat) and then put it all back on the new drive.

That's a pretty good price. Check out this site... they have some really good prices, and usually free shipping.

When I saw that Geek Squad was charging $129 to "set-up" a PS3 at your house, I knew I would never let them do anything.

Too expensive... I have bought my 500 GB HDD € 80 and I did the whole thing myself...
