Whats up yall, I wanna know if the regular version of Fallout 3 is buggy and what not as many has said, or did it get patched at some point? I 'm interested in purchasing it, seeing that its under $20

kool then , the only sort of problems I'd fear would be Corrupted Data , after many hrs of game play. Its action oriented too right? Cuz i'm not big on Rpg games and those type of games where u can get lost cuz its so bigI never had any problems with it before or after the patches, but I seem to be in the minority.
You should definitely pick it up though, I doubt a few glitches (if you even have any) will ruin your experience with this excellent game.

I've never had any problems with Corrupted Data...As long as you're not shutting down the system while saving I don't see how you could have a problem. Also, I think there's an autosave feature, so you should always have a backup save just in case.
There's plenty of action in this game, of that you need not worry. There are RPG elements, but I wouldn't call them a detriment by any means. As far as how big the game is....it's pretty big. In terms of the map, if you get lost, however, you can always fast-travel to a familiar location.
To put it simply: its basically like Oblivion with guns and explosives...if you've played Oblivion.
I really hated Oblivion because no matter how I played it, my character always felt underpowered to the point where any remotely difficult dungeon would be impossible to get through. Maybe it was the levelling system.
Anyways, Fallout 3 is my favorite game this generation and the only game I've bothered going after the Platinum trophy for. You will find some periodic glitching here and there, but nothing game breaking. The biggest problems are found when loading the DLC. I've invested hundreds of hours into the game and have only had it crash no more than 3 times on me. Make sure you save every half hour or so in addition to the auto save and you should be fine.
I would recommend getting the GOTY Edition of the game as it offers about 100 more hours of gameplay. Partially because of the level cap raise to 30 and because there are SO many sidequests to do. At the very least download Broken Steel (an absolute must) and download Point Lookout. Those 2 DLC are well worth the $10 price attached to each of them.
Good luck and enjoy the game. It's fantastic!
I have had graphical gltiches before AND after the patches.
Nothing game breaking, just annoying as all heck.
At one point I had a giant striped wall reaching all the way to the sky. But this was on my original launch 60gig system. It would throttle the fans all the way up after playing more than an hour of Fallout 3.
My replacement refurbed 60gig system runs quiet as a hummingbird and plays the game just fine.
there was a massive difficulty setting to take care of that feeling lolI really hated Oblivion because no matter how I played it, my character always felt underpowered to the point where any remotely difficult dungeon would be impossible to get through. Maybe it was the levelling system.

How is DLC in this game? Is it worth getting and how much does it cost? I can get a normal version for 20$ and the GOTY for 50$.

Mothership Zeta and Broken Steel are awesome IMO. Operation Anchorage is the only other one I've played so far and it was ok. Your best bet is to go ahead and get the GOTY since they all come in that version. So its either $50 for the GOTY version or $20 for the normal + $50 for all the DLC if you choose to get them all since they're $10/per
Mine froze a couple of times. This was after hours of gameplay. Luckily, the game auto-saves constantly.
The graphical foibles on the PS3 version made me return it. If you can get past them, or if they've patched them (I don't know, I only had the game a couple months at launch), it's a great game.
By "Graphical foibles" I mean the ailiasing issues on darn near everything. The edges of everything in the distance are made of giant shifting boxes, fences from pretty much any distance shimmer with running blocks.
I know I'm probably nitpicking, but these graphics issues are the reason the PS3 version lost half a point on the 360 version and the PC version. If you've either of those options, I'd recommend buying it for them.
And before this turns into some flame war, I just want to say my PS3 is my favorite console, but you can't deny Fallout 3 looks worse on it.
