depends on how large your screen is, on anything smaller than a 50 inch screen, you wont be able to tell the difference between 720p or 1080i The best thing is to set the resolution to match the native resolution of the game you are playing, for example resistance 2 (if you check the back of the box) is in 720p so its best to set your hdtv to 720p. If you set it to 1080i the image will just be upscaled.
[QUOTE="Squeets"]1080p will look better on a 1080p TV.Xomonuchi
u didn't answer my question :D , i am talking about 720p games
Well for your options... it said "720p on a 1080p screen"... It is pointless to use 720p when 1080p is possible... 1080p looks better... Why make it an option if it is not what you want...?
most if not all 1080p tv's also support everything from 480p upward and you can pick which resolution to use manually or it can do it automatically. so it's not really much of an issue of will it look better since the tv will match it's inpt resolution
The size of the TV matters, a HUGE TV will need 1080p- but a smaller TV 40in below will need 720p. Then, ALOT of people say that 1080i is better for games that do not have alot have fast movements, but for fastpaced games (like 99% of them) its better to go with either 1080p or 720p (depending on TV size again)
