but is it pointless buying the ps3 because games that are already out on the 360 are now being released on the ps3.vannquishthen I suggest you don't buy those but get the ones that aren't on the 360 like Resistance, MotorStorm, Virtua Fighter 5 (yes, coming to 360 in summer),... If you think the additional fun a PS3 brings you doesn't merit the price, then I wouldn't buy it
Don't forget Devil May Cry 4 and Tekken 6PJ-69Those are third party titles, but yes they are good guaranteed exclusives. I really count on first parties to justify buying a system, but there are some really good third party games coming that can aid with that.

The others are published by Sony and will never come out on 360.

online is free on the ps3... i own all all 3 systems and can tell you its great owning all 3. the main difference between the ps3 and the 360 is gonna come down to first party games. on multisystem games it just depends on which one you think you will enjoy it better, and it'll come down to would you rather play it using a sixaxis controller or a 360 controller. i personally like the feel of the sixaxis better and i really like the interface of the menu system on the ps3.
ps3 pros
-no need to buy attachments (hddvd player, wirelress internet adapter, rechargeable batteries)
 -first party games
-if you liked the feel of the ps2 controller you'll feel at home here
-free online (works great and will improve)
ps3 cons
-not a lot of games out at the moment
-the online store is in its infancy
xbox 360 pros
-lots of games out
-great online system
 -first party games
xbox 360 cons
-have to buy lots of add ons
-50 bucks for online
all in all they are both great and i think both their online plans will be equal by the end of the year. i personally like my ps3 better and probably will buy all the 3rd party games for it and just buy the 1st party games for the 360, but that's just because i love the feel of the ps3 controler.
A couple more PS3 pros.In defense of my Xbox 360, I am here to tell you that statement is nonsense. My wireless keyboard hooked up to it just fine. The keyboard and matching wireless mouse work perfectly on my PS3. Especially when running Yellow Dog Linux and chatting online with friends and surfing the web with "Gaim" and "Firefox".
- It has USB ports, so does the X360. But unlike the X360 you can use standard devices with it such as external hard drives, Keyboard, mouse, etc.
