Ive pre-ordered my PS3 and ive been told I will get it on the day of the launch.

The thing is, I own a xbox 360 and Ive never been so happy with a console.

Im just wondering if there is anyone who was in the same boat and went along with the purchase and bought both consoles?

thanks

quick... gotta get in here before all the hate. I've got both... actually I have all 3... Wii, PS3 and Xbox 360.... all good fun. I feel like I'm loosing interest in the Wii tho... but I'm sure I'll start playing it when more games I like will come out. PS3 and the 360 are both good systems... and both have they're downside I guess.

but is it pointless buying the ps3 because games that are already out on the 360 are now being released on the ps3.

Do you want the exclusives coming out for it? Here are some first party titles coming out (some soon, some not so soon): Afrika Angel Rings Eight Days Eye of Judgment Eyedentify Getaway God of War 3 Gran Turismo 5 Gretzky NHL Heavenly Sword Hot Shots Golf 5 Killzone 2 Lair Monster Carnival MotorStorm Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction Resistance (franchise) SOCOM 4 Uncharted: Drake's Fortune Warhawk I'm not going to list all the 3rd party titles because third parties are unreliable. A couple major 3rd party titles are FFXIII and MGS4. As a bonus, you can use the PS3 as an inexpensive Blu-Ray player if you have an HDTV.

thanks for all the help guys. Using the system as a inexpensive blue-ray player is a good idea. But we then have the problem with whos going to win the war??? HD-DVD or Blue-Ray?

then I suggest you don't buy those but get the ones that aren't on the 360 like Resistance, MotorStorm, Virtua Fighter 5 (yes, coming to 360 in summer),... If you think the additional fun a PS3 brings you doesn't merit the price, then I wouldn't buy it

Those are third party titles, but yes they are good guaranteed exclusives. I really count on first parties to justify buying a system, but there are some really good third party games coming that can aid with that.

Read reviews to find out which system is better to play that game on.

Having both consoles definitly has its plus sides so I say if you can afford it theres no problem in having both.

Just Virtua Fighter. The others are published by Sony and will never come out on 360.

Is there a comparison chart to show me the pro's and con's between the two consoles? Is there a charge to play online like with the xbox 360?

online is free on the ps3... i own all all 3 systems and can tell you its great owning all 3. the main difference between the ps3 and the 360 is gonna come down to first party games. on multisystem games it just depends on which one you think you will enjoy it better, and it'll come down to would you rather play it using a sixaxis controller or a 360 controller. i personally like the feel of the sixaxis better and i really like the interface of the menu system on the ps3.

ps3 pros

-no need to buy attachments (hddvd player, wirelress internet adapter, rechargeable batteries)

 -first party games

-if you liked the feel of the ps2 controller you'll feel at home here

-free online (works great and will improve)

ps3 cons

-not a lot of games out at the moment

-the online store is in its infancy

xbox 360 pros

-lots of games out

-great online system

 -first party games

xbox 360 cons

-have to buy lots of add ons

-50 bucks for online

all in all they are both great and i think both their online plans will be equal by the end of the year. i personally like my ps3 better and probably will buy all the 3rd party games for it and just buy the 1st party games for the 360, but that's just because i love the feel of the ps3 controler.

A couple more PS3 pros.
- It has USB ports, so does the X360. But unlike the X360 you can use standard devices with it such as external hard drives, Keyboard, mouse, etc.
- Sony forbidden>

In defense of my Xbox 360, I am here to tell you that statement is nonsense. My wireless keyboard hooked up to it just fine. The keyboard and matching wireless mouse work perfectly on my PS3. Especially when running Yellow Dog Linux and chatting online with friends and surfing the web with "Gaim" and "Firefox".
