10 years of gaming ahead
some access to the ps2s 6 years of gaming. and even some ps1 titles.
you now have acess to the largest library of games...and the console is high quality.
yes you made a good choice.
damn...i experienced sum bs already lol...i bought it last night so I jus opened it dis morning...my damn AV cables dont work cuz sum of the silver pieces inside of it are missing...damn i gotta take it bacc and get another one lolCalicoMM
i have no idea what your even talking about.
the av cables are broken? something about missing pieces inside of the av cables...which i cant even imagine what that refers to.
It all depends really. If you like all your entertainment on one piece of hardware then it is a good purchase. Luckily you bought yours when they are actual games already out and some more along the way. In the long run I am not too sure about. It could go either way. I don't care about sales either, but if it continues to do rather somewhat poorly, then 3rd parties might not even make games multiplat anymore and then the system will go in the gutter, Metal Gear Solid 4 and Final Fantasy 13 have already been talked about going that direction. Monster Hunter 3 moved to Wii and Devil May Cry 4 went multiplat as well. On the other hand if software sales are good, even thoughPS3 might be a small fanbase, people could still support it because their game sold on it.
Not to start system wars in here, but 3rd parties are complaining about games not selling on wii and there is talk about the 360 reaching the peak of it's potential. If Sony would start advertising some of their better games like Uncharted, Folklore, Warhawk, and Little Big Planet, also if they could get 3rd party games to run as well as 360 then it might stick around. If they could put more games on the store on a regular basis then they could shape themselves up. If they would show off the advantages beyond blue-ray beyond graphics then they could start picking up. Ps2 and PSP sell well, so they are still making money, so I don't think Sony will move out of hardware of gaming,
But if there are still all these delays with a small amount on the store, especially when Japan has got like a trillion old school games, and they keep putting out new sku's of systems, then it will never sell because It's too wishy washy for anyone to produce or buy anything for it.
Granted some of this is becasue the processor of PS3 is different than the ones inside a PC and 360 and that is why 3rd parties don't like it because they have to work harder to get a game to run due to the new architecture of the system and don't want to spend the money or time to put out something of quality. Some games only sell well during a holiday season like the EA sports games and when your trying to hurry up to get the game done in time for the annual round up, you can't make the game run well on a system you are confused about.
The worst case scenario I see is that the PS3 could end up like N64 where they have good to great first party games, but crappy or lack of third party games. If you like the first party things then you should still enjoy your PS3
Please no fanboys....im new to the forums. i really dont know much about 360 or PS3 I jus know im more comfortable with Sony and the Playstation so I purchased a PS3 80gb cz of the price drop....did I make a good decision in the long run?CalicoMM
yes. a definite yes.
because you get five things in one with a PS3. a ps1, ps2, ps3,and blu-ray dvd player.
plus free online. and not too mention great quality. Because today my 360 broke down a third time. and trust me buddy what you got out of the price is certainly what you will get out of the quality.
I thought the 80 gig and 40 gig had no backwards compatability.ninja-legend
The 80 gig PS3 does have backwards compatability. Its the newer 40 gig model that doesnt.
Hmm well check out these games, either out now or coming later this year, and you decide:
Resistence: FOM
Heavenly Sword
Warhawk
Ninja Gaiden Sigma
Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction
Haze
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
All are exclusive, all out now or by the end of this year. For next year we exclusively have games like Final Fantasy 13, Final Fantasy Versus 13, Metal Gear Solid 4, Gran Turismo 5, Tekken 6, Killzone 2, and many more.
The ps3 has both the games and features to last you in the long run, so I think you made the right decision, but we can't decide for you.
Yes, you've made a good decision. Probably a hard decision, because of all the negativity and criticismthe PS3 has been receiving since it's launch. However, a good decision still, because the PS3 is finally getting through everyone's negativity and criticism with nice titles beginning to come out for the system. Not to mention the built blu-ray player and internet browser (provided with free online service).
Enough about that though. Congrats on your PS3.
