I have never really understood the point of having a standby mode and then having to turn off your system from the back on a PS3 and then the PS2, can someone explain what this helps do, my 360 and xbox didnt do that and they work good so just curious..prob should have asked this a long time ago but it just kind of came to me as i was booting up to DL Tekken 5 DR

When your in stand by i think you are still connected to the net or something.

I never understood it either, maybe if you are not going to use it for awhile it should be all the way off.

I don't see any benefit, at least on a PC it doesn't have to bootup again.
