I don't own a PS3, but am a 360 owner. I started putting funds away towards buying one because I would love to own Demon's Souls, Infamous, and LBP; and some others that I hear are pretty decent - such as Uncharted 2/MAG.
But, I moved in with a new roommate who owns a PS3, and he owns the first three and I've gotten to play 'em finally. Awesome games, but overall have gotten a feel for the system and it's menu layout and such. I still have to boot up the 360 to watch stream Netflix, and the last time I did, my roommate goes, "Go-Go Gadget Xbox," in reference to the menu layout on the new dashboard. That brings me to my main issue with the console - I'm not a fan of the PS3's system menus. Silly, right? The unfamiliar layout and look don't do it for me, and I can't just plug my ipod in and have all my music displayed easily for me to listen to as it does with my 360. Can't stream netflix unless I get that DVD from them sent to my house, either. I haven't seen any Blu-Ray films, so I have no first hand experience with them - and I don't think my roommate cares enough to own any Blu-Ray discs... but due to the novelty of a new system in my hands, I have spent most the time playing on the PS3.
Truth be told, at the end of all this, I can't say I'm in any huge rush to get the console. There is a feel I prefer in the 360 than the PS3; even though some of those exclusives are really telling me to just do it... but $300 is alot of dough just to be able to buy a few games I really, really dig LBP though! RAWR! :(
Guess I'll play some more LBP while I still can. *le sigh*
Because i already have a 360 and would only buy a ps3 for the exclusives (which i'm not), it probably would feel like a waste, yes. Not to start a flame war, but i much prefer xbox live than ps3 network.
I felt this way about my Wii. I regret buying mine but i eventually sold it and made out good. Now me and my wife got an ew Wii for Christmas and its been played like 3 times.
As far as my PS3 i think its an awesome value for what it offers compared to the money you have to put into a PC to do all this. Just wish it had more memory and the ability to install linux *wink wink*
If you use your PS3 as a blu ray player then how can you ever feel like its a regret? Even when I'm not gaming I am using it for Netflix and other blu ray movies I own. Plus...Heck no. If I didnt have my PS3 I would miss out on Uncharted 2, GOW3, Heavy rain, Demons souls, LBP, MLB the show series etc. No wayyyy. I wouldnt trade it for an xbox in a million years.
Not even in the slightest. By far the best console this gen and it has not only many great games, but a few that are just stellar and at times blow your mind.

^ this!
I'm about to purchase 'one of the three' that I shalln't mention the name of out of fear of moderation! Pretty sure I'll know the feeling of disappointment then but I don't care! I need me some Resident Evil! Maybe some Mario too! ;)

You can stream movies on the PS3 from Netflix. Just you still have to request the new movies sent to you, which i believe is the same for xbox. You can rent the new titles without Netflix but they take a YEAR to download.
Im opposite of you on this one. I went from a big xbox fan (RROD) straight into a PS3 and loved it ever since i could log on for free and play online for free. Im a bigger fan of the complicated GUI but its not that bad once you know what to do.
Even though I'm a little peeved that my 60gb passed away last night, I don't regret the $500 I dropped on it. The amount of use and entertainment I've gotten out of it the last 3 years more than made up for that.
Then you probably have another console. If I had an Xbox and bought a PS3, I'd obviously regret it as well. Only exclusives don't make a console. After beating GOW 3 and Uncharted 2 I feel like I don't use my PS3 anymore.

I usually go online it (gamespot), plus a usb keyboard. and watch a lot of blu-ray movies, gaming on it not so much.
Not at all. It's a damn fine system from which I continously derive hours of enjoyment. I have absolutely no complaints.
Now strictly being hypothetical, I would have been bored with 360 after I beat Mass Effect 1 and 2....
Cause youre only playing those two games.. PLENTY of great games out there.. The multipurpose use is great to. Dont buy all your Big Multiplayer games all on youre 360.After beating GOW 3 and Uncharted 2 I feel like I don't use my PS3 anymore.

Nope dont regret it a bit. I'm surprised you weren't happy with Uncharted 2. It's one of my favorite games of all time. Maybe give Heavy Rain, Ratchet and Clank or Demon's Souls a try? There's a lot of exclusives I love. Modnation Racers is coming up in a week. Maybe you should expand on the types of games you play? I'm actually the opposite and hardly play my Xbox (though I dont regret buying it a bit, especially since there's a few upcoming games I want)
nope i do not because im saving quite a bit of money without paying for online unlike my friends who have 360's. and i get a ton of other games/features that make me not regret my purchase.

Smart man, that was the first thing I did(check his profile)
I only regret buying a few games on PS3, one of which was GoW3, $60 for an9 hour playthough (it was a decent 9 hours though), should've just rented it. PS3 though, was a great purchase, even though I bought a Slim after my 60gb died. My 360 died on me twice, and I rarely played it, threw that crap out and never looked back, and the Wii had maybe 2 good games on it. Both of those systems I regret buying.
