Why are you complaining? Fair?? Are you really trying to add the concept of 'Fairness' to the business world? Grow up.
Why do you think Sony denied a price cut? They wanted people to go out and buy PS3s at their old price.
Nothing is fair, get used to it.
Enough with these threads, I don't see why you guys care so much man. You should have expected something like this to happen considering you guys were complaining so much for a price drop, it happens that's what you get for being an early adopter. I don't really mind it, I enjoy my PS3 and I know that it's not inferior in anyway, it just has 20GB less of space and it didn't come bundled with Motorstorm I don't care. It's not a ripoff in anyway.
EDIT: everyone's always got to complain about something. "The PS3 is too expensive" they drop the price, "Not enough of a price drop still expensive." What gets me even more pissed is that you ask for all this and they deliver and you still complain and what's next is if Sony announces a new controller everyone's going to complain about buying the Sixaxis at first and they're going to want trade-ins for the Rumble/Sixaxis.
Why should they? Prices of things drop all the time, and it is not the responsibility of Sony to pass this savings down to people who bought a system weeks or months ago. The prices of cars drop....people who bought that car don't get money back. Games go into the greatest hits library and they don't compensate you for buying the game months before. This is just irrational thinking and I don't know why anybody thinks they got ripped off.
You bought the system that you bought at the price you bought it at. You bought it because you wanted it. Sony didn't make you buy it. Everybody here knew full well that the price of the system would drop eventually. This is a "risk" you assume when you buy anything. I have seen people complain non stop on this forum since the price drop was announced and I can't see how anybody could come to the conclusion that Sony should compensate you in any way.
Current PS3 owners should be happy because a price drop means more people will buy it....which means more devs will make more games for it....which means all PS3 owners, current and future, will benefit from this. You will have more people to play PS3 games with online. This is a win-win situation. I don't mean to be snippy, but damn people, you have a great system at the price you were willing to pay for it. Just be happy, play your games and have a nice day.:)
This would most definitely satisfy most of the people complaining about how they bought one before the price change... seeing as how the hdd is removable and stuff all u'd have to do is trade it in and pay like 10 dollars and get the 80 GB HDD orr u could probably just show any store your receipt from when u first bought ur ps3 and then they will give you a discount towards the purchase of the 80GB HDD.... or a special one week trade in offer during the first week of the 80GB sales in which you could trade in ur old 60GB version and pay some cash depending on the condition of it maybe around 140 in cash or soo.. cuz they would have to sell it as refurbished or used lol.... idk guys this is just an idea lolurio1
why are you complaining about 20 measily gigs.If space is an issue for you,you can always buy a 200 gig HDD for $140 or less.Who cares about those 20 gigs atleast we got a price drop.
so Sony ripped me off all these years, cause i bought a PS2 for $299 and now its $129...man i feel ripped off!!
price cuts happen, get over it

thats nothing i bought the modps2 for 500 Can$.thats including tax.and i remember that games were 79.99 back then.i dont see why people complain, maybe those people who complain really want a ps3 but just cant afford one,now with the price drop,ps3's in for a huge boom and with the huge number of underaged kids lurking around the corner just waiting to get their hands on one..it's scary

Your poll is so childish and biased its unreal. There should be a "I could care less because until Sony supports more Video Codecs I won't use the 60gigs completelyanyway!" option. Go out and buy a 120 gig 5400 2.5 120 gig Seagate or Western Digital Harddrive for $70 and call it good.
I hope you fools that whine about this are fully aware that you can just BUY A HD to upgrade your space capacity. What's the point of trading in the 60 gig for a PS3 with 20 gigs more HD space when you can get like 160 gigs for like $100 and install it yourself???

lol dat makes alot of sense but ppl musta forgotten about that... i think wat they r mad about is that the price cut came so soon after the launch... but 100 dollars looks like alot depending on how much ur parents r making or u are making.... we can't 4get that not every1 has mad money in the bank

Actually it doesn't make me mad at all. What's done is done. A price cut is good news if you think about it. It means more chances of PS3 growing a huge install base. You lower the price, more people are going to buy (considering their main gripe was the price tag)
Dude don't complain, you should have been patient and wait for a price drop; like all us poor people.092093
i'm not complaining lol i am happy for this price drop cuz i have been waiting for it too... how many times do i have to say i dont have a ps3 but i do still feel bad for every1 else who got one b4 today
In the electronics world stuff gets old real quick, once you buy something be happy with it because a week or so later the price would probably have dropped since technology gets old very quick. They could at leat give previous owners a free blu ray movie or two cause we didn't get a damn thing when we boguht ours. Sucks cause i just bought mine back in early May. TM1
i guess they could...but then again they dont have to so dat does suck
Here's a solution, for those of you who want props for being a launch owner. How about a plaque you can put up on your wall in your apartment in Home? I got mine on Feb. 27th (my b-day), maybe I could get a little something to put on my apartment wall in Home also. What do you think?vegetattack15
lol i definitely like that idea... that would b mad cool it would be like "True Sony Fan" lol.... ooo well i guess there wont be one on the wall of my apartment..
