I want Rainbow 6, but I'm afraid it'll disapoint me

^Definately rent it first. Im obsessed with R6V right now but its not for everone. Less run n gun and a lot more strategy. The learning curve can be steep but its worth it once you get the hang of it. Single player = meh. Online=amazing fun.

^ Could not have put it any better. Rent it and see if it's for you then buy it. Some peope might not like it, but I have been playing online now for the last few days almost any free time I get. I love it, the graphics arn't that great, but the gameplay is amazing.

i think it's the best tacticall shootwer out there. truelly amazing. the online co-op makes it even better.

I have my 60 greens, and the only games I have is Rfom and Oblivion, which by the way are games that are well worth the sixty dollars, now It's been I while and i feel a need to update my library so I thought about rainbow6, but after many negative feedbacks I'm afraid that I'll waste my money in this game...thoughts?arturo_ko

Rfom is more of a run and gun shooter, whereas RS:V is a strategy based shooter. If you enjoy tactical shooters where you have to take cover and form attacks and try to out flank the enemy--then run, don't walk and buy this game! It is the best FPS on the system to date.

Also, don't listen to all of the people that claim the graphics are not any good. They are fantastic! If you have an HDTV, you have to go to the video options and change your PS3 settings to only display 480 and 720p. This particular game looks blurry when upscaling to 1080i--so deselect the 1080 settings and play the game in 720p--when this is done the game looks amazing.

You may also want to check out the Darkness. The graphics are fantastic, the story is the best I have seen (even rivals MGS--MGS still takes the cake in my book--but The Darkness is not far off), very fun gameplay mechanic with the Darkness's powers. It is cool as heck to spear a guy with one of your tentacles and throw him into other goons. The gameplay in The Darkness is more like Rfom in that it is a run and gun. There is no cover system--however there is some strategy involved--you want to stay in the dark areas and shoot out lights. This game is also a blast to play.

Put it this way--either game--you can't lose!

It's perfect even for tactical, it's controls are so simple anyone can take it up, unlike GRAW with the convoluted controls. This is more like tactical for regular people. I can't see any reason for anyone to not like the game, the controls are easy, the graphics are good and the locations are just sublime, from stage to stage you never feel like you're in for the same thing. Problem with Resistance was the been there done that factor but this games takes you places that you've never seen. The first vegas stage is like something out of a Michael Mann film, it's like Heat but in Vegas.

I can't think anything bad about this great game. Truly the best game on PS3 now.

oblivion is great although it takes some getting use to. rainbow 6 is okay, but its not better than oblivion. i really got it for online play, even though i had more fun playing dark mirror online with the psp than it. oh and something goes on with the network that causes the game to stop and go back to the xmb. rued2k6

i love Counter-strike,but i didnt like source because your cross hair isnt as responisve as CS 1.5 or Condition zero
so im looking at Vegas as counter-strike source gone right,i still dont know if i should buy it i liked it in my freinds house who had a 360 (i loved it online XD) but yeah im still in the unknown zone

**** back to a lvl 1? that sucks meng, even tho i think you really dont care. neways, rv6 is awesome. imo, the online is such a better shooter than resistance. the sp does get boring sometimes but the firefights are spectacular.
