I was asked to leave the store

Basically i went to my local store to pick up a copy of Dead Space. The guy behind the counter asks me for ID so naturally i showed him my ID. He then questions me as to whether or not the ID was real??? I am a very tall person with quite a bit of facial hair. I am 19 years old and he asks me?? he was just a kid. He then went on about how he is not allowed to sell me the game. So i say 'fair enough thats okay.' This idiot then decides to joke around with my ID as if it was nothing more than a cheap piece of paper showing all his co workers. I got pretty angry and demanded it back he then said 'look kid this game contains graphic scenes of gore and violence and you shouldn't see it.' Every five seconds you will see Isaac getting torn to shreds.

This idiot annoyed the hell out of me so i snatched my drivers license back and said 'well im not a noob like you so i doubt ill see Isaac dying all that much.' This pathetic idiot then decides to kick me out for 'abuse.' Urgh im so angry im writing a complaint.

Just out of curiosity, what retailer was it? I dont blame you for being pissed. Although, I wouldnt have called him a noob but instead demanded to see a manager and complain to him. Its getting harder and harder to forge IDs these days, especially in the US. Sounds like the "kid" behind the counter was just trying to be a douchebag.

Good thing I wasn't in your situation or it probably would have been worse. I most likely would have threatened to beat the **** out of him. I don't have very much patience, especially with young immature kids.

I'm 27 and get carded for alcohol, tobacco and, occasionally, video games. In America -- as I'm sure it is in Britain -- IDs have counterfeit protections on them, like small holographic stuff going on or whatever. Obviously you can still make a counterfeit, but these make it more difficult to replicate... thus making it more credible that your ID is real if it has these. If the clerk was doing this to you that means that either a) your ID was really fake, b) no one in that store knows what a real ID looks like and, thusly, should probably be deported or something or c) they were just harrassing you. Either way, I think you may want to start with a discussion with their manager and try to get an especially humiliating apology out of them. THEN I'd send the letter to corporate and maybe wrangle yourself a coupon or something, lol.Generic_Dude
