No, I've had mine since January, no problems thus far (and I've had it on for 10+ hrs in one sitting a couple times)

if the thread stays alive for a while then a mod will sticky it.
Please help me out, it's a really good thread
If the mod sees that I post in it a lot, he won't sticky it because I've been bumping it a lot
So sorry, I can't post there until it gets stickied, but someone else probably will
I'm trying to get it stickied so that people thinking about getting PS3s will come here instead of making more threads
It's a win-win situation; all the questions and answers on one thread
Thanks in advance for your help
as long as you don't have the right side of the ps3 against a wall or something it's pretty good. if you DO have it in a cabinet or something it can get pretty hot.gordjtI don't have one yet. I just wanted to know cause I only seem to have just one good place for the PS3 but its a little, but not too, cramped. When you say right side, do you mean the top when in vertical position?
Yeah, keeping the right side of your PS3 open is crucial. I would imagine if you keep it well ventilated, you'll have you PS3 for years to come. DO NOT BUY AN INTERCOOLER, they do more harm than good for the PS3.
I have an entertainment center with glass doors. Everytime I play, I keep them open to let the air flow. theres also about a foot of space ventilating it on the right side. The only time I dare to use it with the doors closed is when I'm out using remote play, and I barely ever do that.

motherboop
I keep mine in a entertainment center too but I took the glass doors off (IT ACTUALLY LOOKS BETTER) because of my Ps3. I'm a launch day owner and have had 0 issues with my Ps3. The bottom line, keep it ventilated
not at all really, i've left my ps3 on for days at a time (at one point for a week straight) no problems it didn't get any hotter
ps3 has a HUGE heat sink and great ventilation
