All Sony needs is a steady flow of good popular games.  Unfortunately they dont have that many slated for Japan in the near future.  Why?  I have no clue.  Its funny how they didnt have the fore thought to have some Japanese type games already in the works for the ps3.  I think it was just bad management on their part.  But I do expect to see a boost in sales when Ninja Gaiden Sigma is released.  BTW the thing that got the PSP out of that "slump" was the release of Monster Hunter 2.  crck

do you really think a remake gonna do something?

Are we going to continue discussing this every F-ing day of the week! Stop for god sake! Are any of you actually working for Sony, MS, or Nintendo? No, you are consumers, so go out and consume. By that I mean, play a game, if it sucks let us know, otherwise, stop worrying about things you cant actually change, such as sales figures in a country that most of you have never been too. Screw it, I give up, this will never end.

Why did SOny add to the problem by not producing/securing more games for it? This week we saw it drop below 15.000, and there are no notable games to come out for it in the near future. Very soon it will start dropping below 10,000. Can it ever recover from this?

A short while ago, PSP was stuck in a rut in Japan, with sales routinely in the 18-20k each week. Since early December, i dont think it has dipped below 30k, and i also believe this is the first week for a while where it has dipped below 40k. PSP is the only saving grace (albeit a very small one) for Sony in Japan, often outselling ps3 and ps2 combined.

Deihmos

they just don't want to spend more than 300$ in a video game, that's why the Wii is selling like mad and both ps3 and 360 are having slow sales

Price is not the subject. Games are. There was a similar thread a few days ago, and some guys from Japan were saying that Wii has more games that are only for Japan. You know as those games that were only for Japan during the PS 2 era. PS 3 has only got Gundam Musou recently and now they will have to wait for other games such as MH 3.

I don't recall the Wii having good games at launch. Zelda is all I heard about yet it sold like hot cakes. Price is a factor plus HDTV is not that big in Japan.

yeah, zelda but what the ps3 have? Resistance... what is Resistance anyway? a new FPS series....

Zelda= one of the greatest series of all time

Zelda>Resistance

then if that console does not sell; what do you think is gonna happen? no games and no nothing

thats = 600 dollars lost

[QUOTE="dboy482"]when final fantasy 13 comes out they'll all go nuts for ps3, though i dont really like final fantasyPixelgen

THe Final Fantasy series is more popular in USA than in Japan. The Japanese go crazy over the Dragon Quest series.

Wrong.

Do the numbers by population and not sales numbers...

Thats a silly thing to do ... why compare popualtion to sales figures ? higher sales = more people buying the product ...

is 10% of americans own HDTV's and 95% of Australians own HDTV's in which market has more HDTV's sold ?
In America -- Australia has a mere 21 million population ... America has a population of around 350 million ...
Therefore America is the larger market and the potional for the most sales ...

So is the 360 doing well because i head that the 360 was barely selling at all in Japan?

blackace

The 360 is selling like crap in Japan, which is to be expected. The price is high for Japanese gamers and it doesn't have the games that appeal to them. It being an American system doesn't help it either. We'll see how it does once Lost Odyssey and Cry On comes out.

wait, wasn't the "wait for X title to come out" used before with Blue Dragon?
