so they don't make it with that metal any longer? That's a real shame. I like knowing that people died for the console I own. I like that blood was required to make what I paid for, it makes it feel all the more valuable. It's like i didn't just by a console, I also bought human lives. That rules and it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling every time i boot up my PS3, especially since mine is a launch ps3.
It's kinda like why I buy Nikes and only Nikes. I love knowing that my 200 dollar Jordans were crafted by the hands of the finest children of Malaysia and that my "kicks" were fashioned out of ruined lives, hopeless futures, tortured existences, and shattered childhoods. That's great.
Yes, this is a joke post.
lol that was pretty funny I like your dark sense of humor anyways back to the topic who cares cause I dont theres 6 billion people in the world so a few dead doesent really matterso they don't make it with that metal any longer? [QUOTE="loggerz"]Wow posting old news is so much fun isn't it :D.Egyptman786
no its not, but what is fun is going out with friends and having a life and not knowing this was posted earlier today because I am not on these forums 24/7. So, Sorry...
/Winner. =DWow how dumb is this post...
Now im not saying this is right, but the clothes you are wearing was most
likely to be made in the same way. And why are you only flaming Sony?
What about the Wii or 360??
Face it, you FAIL.
Sony haters suck :)
0let's ask ourselves how many children have we killed by posting in this forum? How many children have we killed by driving cars? how many children have we killed by buying clothes?
just my two cents...
Limality
im gonna go and buy 3000000 ps2s now and become the next batman villan hahahahahahahahahahahah muhahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Way ahead of ya
According to a report by activist siteToward Freedom, for the past decade the search for a rare metal necessary in the manufacturing of Sony's Playstation 2 game console has fueled a brutal conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Allegedly, the demand for coltan prompted Rwandan military groups and western mining companies to plunder hundreds of millions of dollars worth of the rare metal, often by forcing prisoners-of-war and even children to work in the country's coltan mines.http://videogames.yahoo.com/feature/playstation-2-component-incites-african-war/1231745

LOL. I appreciate what your doing but, at the same time, are you serious?! There are [or should I say were] components of televisions, cellphones, computers and many other consumer electronics that caused the same result. Did you know when the first XBox came out, one of the manufacturing facilities in Mexico dumped tons of hazardous materials into the nearby streams which caused local residents to riot? Their only source of fresh water was being polluted. Just trying to point out that SONY isn't the only one who is indirectly contributing to fighting elsewhere. Look at it this way, almost any electronic appliance in the world that invlolves a PC screen or television has a similar story behind it. And, wether you know it or not, we the consumers contribute to that cycle everyday when we go out and buy the latest flat screen tv's, gaming systems, and top-of-the-line home PC's WITHOUT putting a single thought into where and how companies assemble their products.
well know i can finally say I "Killed someone" or i can respond when someone askes me "have you killed anyone?" I can say "Yes" Yes I have" and then walk away leaving that mysterious fell upon yourself makes other peopple think your badassssssss:twisted:POPEYE1716
LMAO ! No,no,no! You have to do it the way these companies do it. For example, "I have indirectly contributed to wars in Africa and elsewhere by buying these products, and I'm covered under the act of pluasable deniability to boot."
Remember to buy conflict free diamonds and Playstations!
It is not the intention of Playstation customers to buy the consoles just so they can see children die. Furthermore, manufactering PS2s cause these people to fight and die. They don't wait till we buy the Playstation before killing each other.
Even if this is really true then it is the problem of the UN, Sony Companies, and the people of Congo to fix. We are just gamers. We buy to play. We don't buy for the purpose of seeing others die in the real world (virtual world is something else intirely).
"If you own a PS2, PS3, or PSP, you are killing children." What?? Are you saying as long as we have these systems (which I have all three) children are dying because if it? That does not make any sense.
Sure the process of making consumer items gets hundreds of thousands of people killed. Welcome to reality. We live in a world where people kill each other in order to attain a higher state of power.
I want you tohave that same mindset when you by sneakers, victoria secrets, any electronic equipment. SONY does not get they raw material from the Congo and the PS3 does not have any raw material from the Congo. Anytime you buy produst inwhich the material had to imported you run the risk of supporting some tyrannt. Whether its a game console or soft drink. Do not get distracted by the BS gamers keep your focus on the real issues, or pertinent issues, between games.
hahaha
that sucks, but im glad im not in congo. thats unfortunate indeed but frankly, there is NOTHING anyone can do about it. so posting this topic was an indirect fail.
you can tell a man that buying playstation is wrong, but he wont do it if he is left without his entertainment. and will buy *GASP* another one.

Yeah, and so does your diamonds, coal, marble, gold, silver, nickle, all over the world. You think these things magically appear from some resource fairy that sprinkles pixie dust across the land while everybody jumps around in happiness?
You wouldn't believe what you take for granted, has to go through in order for you to consume. Look it up yourself. 98% of the things in your house would be gone if you'd like to play that card. The people in power don't give a crap. They buying it from the mining companies and sell it to you.
And you know what? Even the very food you eat is going to get this way too.

Most people don't care until something tragic happens to them personally then it's a whole different story.

You are right... but even tough I have a PS3 and a PSP I wont stop buying the products I want, I even want a second PS3 and I wouldnt hesitate to buy it
Ridiculous... if you knew how most of the world's products were manufactured or how they got materials, you'd never buy anything. Buying oranges supports illegal immigration, buying certain precious stones supports terrorism, buying basketball sneakers supports child labor atrocities, filling up your gas tank supports the illuminati bankers and the new world order.
Whatever, man. The world's going to be a mess whether or not you have a PS3. If it concerns you that much, split up your time with gaming with going out into the world and making it a better place than the world you came into.
