A 60GB?
yea O_o...sony keeps brand new 60gig consoles on hand for those who bought the system and need it replaced, least thats what the rep said when i called them after mine wouldnt read discsDemeritus
I'd hope so. If I had to send my 60gb in and got a 40gb in return that's grounds for a major lawsuit.

lol Sort of, I bet Sony has lawyers good enough to bend the legal system their way...it would be a nerve-wracking trial to be sure.
The 80 gig is the same price as the 60 gig was after the price drop, so if you don't get a 60 gig you better get an 80 gig.meetah13
It would still be a travesty. The 60gb has perfect BC.

Yeah, and they could always manufacture more if people w/ 60GB PS3s continue to experience problems - they were discontinued from the market after all, not from existence. :D

Fixed - granted that it will play every single game you would actually want to go back and play, but its still not technically 100% - they could always go back and fix any problems through system updates, but they would need more incentive than just one person who is pissed that he can't play that game. If it's a popular enough game, I'm sure Sony take a little bit of time to work with the devs and fix any problems with backwards compatibility.
What if the system breaks after the one year warranty sony gives you for the PS3? Can you still get a new, free PS3 from sony?meetah13no after the one year warranty you have to pay for it to get fixed by sony, it's like 190 dollars or something
