In game XMB USELESS

I dunno... I think it's fine for now.

They will add more stuff to it. Next thing will hopefully be in-game chatting via the XMB. That way there won't be anymore broken games with no mics online where you can't talk to friends.

LOL I don't care what everyone states - like or dislike. I like it. I was downloading some demos yesterday so played a game meanwhile - kept checking on the download status - nice. Then I played objectives on resistance and told a dude to wait for a min since we were about wrapped up etc.

It is what I wanted - voice chat sure would be nice, but don't need it. In-game music - why the developers put sound in the game for a reason and a boom-box could be had at any garage sale for less than $5........ And for you that say hey I don't want to buy something else - everyone tells me to get a new HDD since I don't like mandatory pre-installs......

I'm not disappointed at all because I knew exactly what was coming in the update. Sony never promised all the stuff that people are complaining about. Sure, there could be more games with trophy support but the update has only just got here, it's not like the 360 which had mandatory achievements from the start.

ive played al lthis time without it so whats it matter i can send messages in game... ooohh....... not really a big deal, i would like it for music or chat but otherwise i wont care that much.

it isn't sony's fault, the devs have to enable it (ingame music) for their game, and the devs take time to figure out how to get it done right, give it a few weeks and the more popular and recent games will have it in there, and many future games will have it out of the box. it's just a feature that takes time from the devs, not sony, to use it.luigismansion101

hopefully more games will have IGM but the devs have had months to do it and still no patches. And why couldnt sony just make the music run over the games audio

They never promised half the stuff people are complaining about. The update has been out, what a week max. There are numerous usefull features: In-game messaging, checking on your downloads, registering bluetooth devices, and the internet search tool is kinda neat.

Yes, there is a lack of stuff you can't do, however hopefully that will be updated in time.

Why are people getting mad anyways? Did the TC hurt your widdle feelings by talking bad about the XMB? I can picture these people crying in little corners, losing sleep over it.

In game XMB is great. Oh like music is that important? I'm just happy to send messages to my friends WHILE in another game. Thats all that interested me. Some games deserve in game music, like I don't know, Burnout. But if I'm playing MGS4 I don't want no music playing. Maybe in something like GTA4 maybe, but not all games should have it, some shouldn't. But it still has to be tweeked. So just because it isn't there now, doesn't mean it won't be there later. Just wait and it will come. But as far as it being useless, I disagree.

Heck, I was from the Atari days and I don't really care for it. The updates I liked so far was the wallpaper option, even that great looking earth orbit music visualizer. I mean, I'm not busting my brain over it but nothing really stood out this time for me. Also for the fact, I don't really care for trophies either.
