In game XMB USELESS

You know, I've seen tons of comments like this one. What more from In-Game XMB access do you want than what was given to you. Before 2.4, if someone sent you a message while you were playing a game, you had to quit the game, then go to your friends list then read the message and reply. You can pretty much access every single feature on the XMB without leaving the game except for the internet browser and DVD/BD if I'm not mistaken. What more do you people want? It's like the old saying, "give an inch and they try to take a mile." Geez, can we all act like civilized people and be thankful for what we've been given at no additional charge. in game XMB is useless. I have defeated sony since PS2 with great loyalty i mean a true Sony Warrior. But i have to draw the line here, in game xmb is been one of my most wanted things i wanted out of my ps3. No REAL games can play in game music. No REAL games have trophies (Hsword, uncharted warhawk etc.) No in game chatting. All i can do is send txt msg. As far as trophies go I will agree that we should have more, I say give it 2 more weeks and we'll have some trophies, I read on Kotaku that RSV2 will have an update fairly soon with trophy support.

In-Game XMB will get better in the future. They don't want to rush it, because of the problems some people got with 2.4.

Some folks are just spoiled these days. Everyone should of known about the networking features that the PS3 provided. If those features was so important to you then you should have purchased a 36O that have these features that you are requesting. I purchased my PS3 to play next gen titles, PS1 and PS2 and Blu-Ray movies. Anything extra that Sony adds is a plus. I am happy with the current in-game XMB update. I am able to check my friends list, can read and send messages and check download status while I am in the middle of a game. I am not to concern with in game music (since I would only use it with sports games) and in-game voice chat is not that important to me. Even though I am not the one to use cheat codes, I do feel that Sony could have implemented the feature to view the Internet while in the middle of a game. I understand that my use for the PS3 is different than most but the update just came out. Give it a change to bloom and it will grow into a beautiful thing. In the mean time just play games!

P.S. I think trophies is overrated. If a game have them good, if not replay value with still be the same.

No I don't agree with you. In game messaging is good enough. If you want music, play it on your stereo, computer, walkman, discman, or ipod, or whatever. I hate when people subjected others online to their music. If achievements/trophies/accomplishments/etc. are the only things making you play games, then that is pretty shallowMujambo

Yea, I remember the good ol' days when people used play games just for the hell of it. Not to show people how big a number we have like it has something to do with the size of your...well you know.

Sony is slow. Or get an XBOX 360 which is kinda better. Sadly Sony is lazy.

LOL I don't care what everyone states - like or dislike. I like it. I was downloading some demos yesterday so played a game meanwhile - kept checking on the download status - nice. Then I played objectives on resistance and told a dude to wait for a min since we were about wrapped up etc.

It is what I wanted - voice chat sure would be nice, but don't need it. In-game music - why the developers put sound in the game for a reason and a boom-box could be had at any garage sale for less than $5........ And for you that say hey I don't want to buy something else - everyone tells me to get a new HDD since I don't like mandatory pre-installs......

I can understand when you guys say, "developers put sound in the game for a reason", but some sports games I play such as Madden, MLB, NHL, and NBA games could do with different soundtracks that I actually enjoy.

I agree with you on the rest of your points though. It's nice to be able to message people in game and check your friends list and what not, but I have to admit that I was disappointed at the lack of in game musicfor all games.
