I am shopping around for a 32 inch HDTV to use for my ps3 and i would like to get a Sony Bravia but i have limited funds and it seems that VIZIO is the least expensive. does any one know if VIZIO is a good buy? If not, do you have any suggestions for someone looking to get the best value for the least money?

Vizios aren't good for gaming since they usually have alot of motion blur.

For gaming make sure you buy a TV that has at least 120hz

Sony, LG and Samsung HDTVs are generally good for all around movie and gaming needs. Sony more on the luxury side of things (Bravia XBR series and up) Samsung for the more affordable, quality per dollar, budget-minded consumer. LG's a bit of both.

120Hz will reduce the blur but it can add lag since it takes the tv a few extra milliseconds to process the extra frames.

Samsung=/=Sony.....dont even put lg in this category because sammy and sony are the best around.....stick with either of these 2 and U DO NOT need 120hz...its hard to tell the difference in video games alone so dont bother with it

I have a 52", 120Hz Samsung that I lust very much. I highly recommend it.

Edit: Contrary to the comment above, you CAN notice the 120Hz difference. However, a word of note: 120Hz works be injecting a simulated frame inbetween the frames of the 60Hz source. Sometimes the result is less than desirable, but usually if the source is high quality, so are the interwoven "fake" frames.

When I bought my Samsung I looked at TVs until my eyes fell out. The Bravia is tricky to compare. There are so many different levels of Bravia, and the only one I really liked was the very-high-end Bravia, which at 52" was about $600 more than the Samsung I bought, and it was NOT $600 better.

I like Samsung. I find them essentially equivalent to the Sonys, but for less money. Sharps can be quite good, but often have banding problems. So all in all, I recommend going for a Samsung. You can save money by going for a cheaper 60Hz.

I prefer Sonys. Samsungs are good too, but they lack the sound quality of Bravia's. So unless you have a home theater system, I would pick a Sony.

If you have the funds, Best Buy is currently running a deal where you can buy a 46" Sony Bravia KDL - 46V5100 (1080p and 120hz) for $950, and you get a free PS3 slim, a game (Uncharted 2, LBP GOTY, or the new R&C), as well as a $30 blu-ray movie (can't remember the selection). If you sell the PS3 for $250, it comes down to $700, and you could even make that $600 if you sell the game and the movie too (not including sales tax, of course). I got this deal, and am really satisfied with the TV, and I'm selling the PS3 this weekend (Keeping the game and movie lol).

If you don't have the funds, then I would recommend this Sony Bravia. The guy I recommended it to on this thread bought it, and liked it so much that he sent me a message thanking me for my recommendation. So I would choose this as an alternative to the Best Buy deal.

I had all three...a Bravia, Samsung, and a Vizio. I can tell you hands down and by a very long shot that Samsung is undoubtedly the best out of any of them. With Sony, you're really paying mostly for the name (surprise). When I bought my Samsung, the HDTV right above it on the wall was a Bravia that was the same size as the Samsung, but had less HDMI ports and a far lower contrast ratio. Some can argue that contrast ratio can't really be compared from one brand to the next, but looking at the same image on both screens I could surely tell the difference. Anyway, the Bravia was also about $500 more expensive than the Samsung, and didn't look near as aestheticaly pleasing as the red beveled Samsung did. Vizio is okay, but they use older parts in their models that are subcontracted out from other people. They are good for their price, but they won't give you near the picture quality you can get with a Samsung.

Samsungs and Bravias are good. My brother got a Vizio and I guess it's pretty good for that low price. Go to CNET.com and browse around the HDTV section and reviews.

VIZIO's have some terrible warranties, but they make decent sets. take that as you will.
