holy crap what a game. I always had this thought the Kessler was cole from the future due to the fact he kind of looks like him.
But i love how Sucker Punch led it into a sequel story
lets hear your thoughts :)

I liked it too and it's pretty obvious that they are planning on a sequel. I just hope it's not too long of a wait. I particularly like the boss fights on hard difficulty anyways. They reminded me of some old arcade games in their difficulty.

Yeah, I always thought they looked similar, but I never would have guessed it. Its fun playing through the second time, because knowing that one detail makes so much of what they say throughout the game make perfect sense. Like the way Sasha was always acting like Cole was her lover.... He was! Well his future self was anyway. Its real cool. There is just ONE tiny detail that bugs the crap out of me, and I was wondering what anyone else thought: Kessler came back in time to help make himself more powerful so he could defeat the monster, right? So Kessler actually had powers already BEFORE he came back (that's actually how he came back). But then the entire game is about is about how the Ray Sphere's blast gave Cole powers. Right? If Kessler made Cole set off the Ray Sphere and gain powers then how did he have the powers he already had before he came back in time? Or was it that the Ray Sphere was simply supposed to awaken Cole's powers prematurely and concentrate them at a fuller force or something? I really wish there was some explanation for that. :(Heck yeah, dude the hard difficulty makes this game so much more fun. Its more challenging but not punishing. You just have to use more of your defensive abilities like dodge rolls, flips, cover, and electric shield. But then after playing through as hard go back and play on Easy.... OMG you feel like Zeus himself!I liked it too and it's pretty obvious that they are planning on a sequel. I just hope it's not too long of a wait. I really wish there was some explanation for that. :( I believe than in Kessler's timeline, someone else had developed the raysphere(maybe the monster) and that's what gave Kessler his powers but he didn't develop his powers quickly enough to stop the monster so he stole the plans for the raysphere and went back in time to get the First Sons to develop the technology himself and thus Cole would have more time to develop his abilities before the great battle against the monster.WOW what a game. I had several of the same thoughts after finishing. Here are few more questions. Does anyone thnk Alden could make an appearance in the second one and will Cole have the powers that Kessler had at the end battle like teleporting? Doubtful but it'd be cool.LBJ44For sure Alden and Sasha will be back, as will Moya and of course Zeke. What Sucker Punch did was basically create Cole's own rogues gallery, a la Batman, by not definitively killing off the main baddies. As for Cole's powers, I think there may be some overlap with Kessler's powers but there mights be some differences only because Cole is now existing in a separate timeline from Kessler's, who essentially changed history by doing what he did. So Cole may very well develop differently. What an ending!! I think its the best story so far for this gen that I've experienced. My imagination is seriously reeling. Fantastic game!! Bring on the Beast!!!

I would like an explanation myself.i think the power kessler gains from the raysphere were different to the ones cole himself gained, because if kessler could have absorbed electricity then you would not have been able to hurt him in the boss battle. I thought the ending was great though, there were lots of loose ends which will serve for the basis of a sequel for sure.
Know what else it cool? If you finish the game evil the sky is blood red and you have that wicked black lightning. Just looks awesome. I have an evil and a good end game both saved just for the heck of it. Also, who was sad about how Zeke turned out? He was awesome at first. :(Nephilim83
After I heard Zeke refer to money as "serious cashola" I lost all liking of him.
Does anyone know why that if Kessler is Cole, why they have different names? I don't quite get that.

Me neither, but maybe he just gave himself a new and more evil looking name.

That's pretty much what I was thinking. I believe the First Son's prolly developed it, but just didn't develope it soon enough to give Kessler his powers in time. So, he stole the plans for it and went back in time to have it developed quicker. There was that one dead drop where John explained that the First Son's were noted as being responsible for a bunch of great inventions but with no actual record of proof of any... As if the actual inventions were removed from history? Replaced with Ray Sphere... Oh, well, that's a good enough explanation for me, so I'll just let it be. ;)You can use this as a reference to clarify on the ending and possible unanswered questions:

Mostly clarifies on who the Beast possibly is. Please note that most of it is speculation but amazingly accurate, and also approved by other posters.
It's a long read so I'll clarify on most of the points:
If you read on, there is an assumption of John actually being the Beast for the reasons stated in the link.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he just changed his name so Cole McGrath wouldn't wonder why he's fighting Cole McGrath. :P[QUOTE="BPoole96"]

Hey that sounds pretty good to me. I did think the beast looked like John, so maybe there is something to that. It makes a lot of sense.[QUOTE="Nephilim83"]Know what else it cool? I thought the time period when zeke was off with kessler was pretty lame due to the fact that we have no explination of why zeke came back
Just curious what's the first because I just got a ps3 and I'm trying to build a collection, thanks in advance.InFamous is one of the best games this gen and the 2nd best game on the PS3 IMO.I'm really looking foward to InFamous 2 and I really think John is the Beast.

I think John will return as the beast in the second game. This was by far one of the best games I've played but the second time it was meh.

I agree...once done with the good and evil, there is not much left in the game...they should really put a police alert systemor something...That would have kept me occupied...:D
Well, just finished the game. Not as exciting for me because some a-hole revealed the suprise on another forum (I was trying to find out more about the karma meter, totally unrelated to ending) without labeling spoilers.
Still mad about that..
I have some things I'm confused about still...
**What was the deal with the TV brodcaster who hated Cole so much?? Could HE possibly be the beast?
**I don't think I ever understood what John had to do with anything. Why did he even want the raysphere? Who was he working for?
**If the Beast has theoretically been building his powers since the original raysphere blast, wouldn't the present Cole have heard about it during the whole timeline in which the game takes place? There is no way you wouldn't encounter this Beat at some point, especially if he is tearing the place apart.
