Very good game, Lots of fun to run around and blow up stuff, shock people, ect. Though it's one of your typical sandbox games. I enjoyed it a lot. 1 blast shard left and I can't find it *sigh*FrunklinI dread this moment, I'll end up having to route the map with the point checker and constantly mash the L3 button.
It's an amazing free-roaming sandbox game. The controls are smooth and fun to use especially to navigate through the city. Think Assassin's Creed with regards to climbing and moving around, but with electric powers to boot. The combat is fun and there is a huge arsenal of powers/abilities (most of which are upgradeable), as well as plenty of variety in the mission types, so don't worry if you thought this game might be a gimmick - it's definitely not.
I bought it launch day, played for 4 hours straight, and then some more over the past week, andthe story is picking up nicely (I'm 26% done), the storytelling is enjoyable, and the plot is getting more interesting with each new mission. The powers are unlocked at a steady pace, so you'll get plenty of use out of each power, and just when you're about to get bored with a certain power, the game will give you a new one to play with. Plus, you can upgrade them to upgrade your fun.
Also, moral/karmic choices have come up at several points in the game already. Certain powers are only available for "Good" Cole, with others are only available for "Bad" Cole, and some upgrades depend on how bad or good you are. This adds replayability to what is already a very lengthy game because you'll want to do a good play-through and a bad play-through to use all the powers available and the story as well as the citizens change based on your karma. They will attack you if you have bad karma, and praise you if you have good karma.
I've played easily 10-15 hours and I'm only 26% through the game according to the save file. The review says it's about 30 hours for one playthrough, which is probably accurate for most gamers, but I'm a bit of a completionist and I like to take my time with games. The fact that it manages to stay exciting and fresh will new mission types, powers, and upgrades for the entire time I've played thus far says a lot about its value. Also, the karmic choices involved add replayability - like everyone else I know who has the game, I'm shooting for at least one good playthrough and one evil playthrough. You should easily be able to get 60-80 enjoyable hours out of this game, making it more than worth the full $60 price tag.
Plus, if you still find copies with the Uncharted 2 multiplayer beta key, that just sweetens the deal and gives you the perfect reason to buy it now! All in all, after many hours of enthralling gameplay, I can give this game my full recommendation.

Nice review - I agree with it almost completely. I think the climbing in inFamous is a lot better than the climbing in Assassin's Creed, though. And finding a copy of inFamous that still has an Uncharted 2 multiplayer beta code still in it could be tough; a lot of places are sold out of them now. You might still get lucky, but I'm guessing that IF there's any copies still out there, they'll be gone by the end of the weekend, so if you happen to find one, I'd snap it up!
