IRON MAN review

7/10 on Gamer.tv

Movie-based videogame = load of crap. that'll always be the general rule, with very very very very few exceptions.

I'll agree that the Iron Man game looks like it will be garbage, but since when is 7/10 crap? :?Silent-Hal

Okay fair enough. Not many 7/10 games are worth full price, but a 7 still means the game is worth playing. Most 7 games are perfect as rents or discount buys (which is why I am waiting until Dark Sector drops in price), its not as if the game will be unplayable or won't be any fun.

I love Marvel comics and movies and the couple of games I enjoyed were Spiderman and Hulk: Ultimate destruction. I tried the demo and forgot all about the game ever coming out.

I heard the movie is good though. I'll take my chances on buying a $10.00 movie ticket than to buy a $65 game.

I'm finding these boards kinda annoying lately with so many people claiming that GTA IV is the "best game ever" and now people saying things like Iorn Man is the "worst game anyone has ever played". You guys either need to stop talking in such absolute terms or play a broader selection of games because GTA IV is by far not the best game ever and Iron Man is by far not the worst.Elitheos

I've played the demo too (PS3) and while I can't say that it was one of my worst gaming experience ever, I, on the other hand, found it really boring.

There is really no such thing as a best game ever and that's what is ridiculous about everyone claiming that GTA IV or any game is the best. No game can offer the best of everything. Try to tell me that GTA IV beats games like Halo 2 or Team Fortress 2 in multiplayer. How are the controls in GTA IV, the best ever? So does that mean no other games have better targeting or shooting or melee controls than GTA IV? GTA IV may do alot of things right, but so do many other games. Bioshock has better graphics and storyline than GTA IV, but is it the best free roaming environment? No. What about Oblivion's free roaming world environment, amazing detail but i've played games with a better storyline and interface.

Few games come close to the atmosphere that the first 2 Metroid games created, or the character development of FFVII, or the graphics of MGS 4, or the strategy of Starcraft, or the beauty of Symophony of the Night. But can all these games be the "best game ever"? No, they can only called "really good" games.

I do like Assasin's Creed.

Yeah, your mind maybe. I'd give a higher score to Shadow of the Collosus than GTA IV. We'll see how GTA IV fairs once the more impressionable people have been rolled up into the next "best game ever" hype machine. Will it be MGS4? Maybe Starfcraft 2? Bioshock 2? Oooo, what about Fallout 3? Then theres always the rumored FF VII remake and Halo prequel.

I'm predicting a 6.0 from GS on the rating, like most movie games, they are for the fans as they are quickly put together and are never that great. The movie is awesome, I was very surprised at how well it was and it was very very crowded with some showings sold out. Nice thing about games with a medicore rating, they will be 19.99 within a month and then it may be worth picking up.

Shadow Of The Colossus? Mediocre? I hope that's the GTA hype talking buddy, unless you want to prove how many philistines are attracted to that series. Just because you don't like a game doesn't mean it wasn't awesome.

Shadow of the Colossus was pretty damn epic. The only other game where I felt that awesome sense of scale was Robot Alchemic Drive. And the graphics were superb for a PS2 game. And SOTC was unique where as GTA IV is the 4th installment in a series which hasn't changed greatly since GTA III except now you can actually see the blow-job as opposed to having to use your imagination. But like I said, GTA IV isn't anywhere near the best game ever made. If you believe it is then you need to expand your gaming tastes to include a wider variety. Then you may realize that there is no one best game, just alot of games that really excell in different areas, of which GTA IV may be one.

But anyway yeah, Iron Man = good graphics/mediocre gameplay.
