I just noticed AC is only $30 brand new at gamespot. Would it be worth adding this to my collection for the $30 price tag. Heard its a love it or hate it kind of game.
I liked the game for about the first 2 hours, then you realize you do the same stuff over and over until the end. I would recommend renting it for the weekend (for about $5) and just play as much as you can. After that, you've experienced all the game has to offer (and you'd probably have a good chance of beating it in that time). It's just way too repetitive to buy IMO, but I will say the game mechanics and environments are amazing.
Definitely, Assassin's Creed is great game - It has few flaws here and there but it's not bad at all, 30$ is a good price for it, but if you're still hesitating - maybe a rent is a good solution. :)
Yeah, I agree. I'd definitly rent it because I was highly disappointed with the game, compared to the HYPE it was given. But what ticked me off the most was AC received a better score than Uncharted. :shock:

Agreed. Assassin's Creed started out magnificently. The first 1-2 hours were amazing and it was what an action-adventure game should be. But after that, it become utter repetitiveness. I dont know what happened with Ubisoft. The first 2 hours were so IMMERSIVE. And if it remained that way for the majority of the game, it wouild have been easily a 9.5 or higher, game. I think they started to slack off after the first 2 hours of the game. It's like two different developers were working on the game. That's just how I felt. If you ask me, is it worth $30? Yes it is. It's actually worth more. Beautiful and stunning graphics, great engineering work, a solid storyline, and it's simply fun to engage in sword fights, and climb buildings. He can climb just about everything in his environment and that never gets old.
Yes buy it for 30$, finish it, then sell it. AC is the technically most impressive game I've played since HL2. It's worth the 30$ just to run around on the rooftops for 10min, it's fantastic.
I didn't like it to tell you the truth. Quite fun for the first few hours then it's just repetitive. And what's the point of it being open worlded if exploration isn't really rewarding? Plus the ai isn't good at all. I think you should rent it first, keep it for a day and then decide.

i didn't realize gamespot sold game...
its worth it though, as long as you don't get all pi55y when there is repitition involved your in for a treat. the game is excellent imo.
I had it on 360, and for some reason, for me, the game was so good, I didnt care about the repetitiveness. Ive heard the PS3 version has lots of framerate issues though. But if there is a patch for those, go for it.
I bought it on sale from Best Buy when it was $40 in January. I don't regret it, even if it does get boring after a while. Running around the cities is fun.
Seeing as alot of people love it. An its a 30 $ dollar buy, then it must be worth it. Great Bargain in my opinion. I should get it with Virtua Fighter 5 at like 50 bucks.
Definitely in my opinion this game is easily worth the $30, it's a bit repetitive at times but overall I was very pleased with the game as a whole and the experience.
