It looks to me that the PS3 version of BF3 is really far away from the PC version. And I am not talking just about the graphics, I dont really care about them. I was thinking of getting it but only 24 people on the bigger conquest maps compared to 64 on PC... They probably just feel empty with nothing going on around you and no action for the most of the game. I heard that the best person in one game only gets like 10 kills. And big maps with action all around you were always the best part of Battlefield so it just doesnt look like the real Battlefield experience.

Did anyone play it on PS3 (or 360) and thinks differently?

I play it on ps3 because of my big groups of friends play it on ps3, and I don't have a good pc to run this monster. Dice did a great job IMO on console.

If you have the opportunity to get in on PC,do so but you want a console experience then get it on PS3 cause of the exclusive bonus

The map have been scaled down. Some of them anyway - from 5 capture points to 4 or 3 in some cases. As well as the respawn points being brough closer to the bases. And 10 kills? I average around 20 per match lol. Got high as 40 in one rush game :o But if you're worried that there will be a lack of action, don't worry. Even thought the maps are still bloody huge, there's constant action and as long as you play the objective, you won't have trouble finding people to shoot in the face :)

Well, as much as I love it on PS3, it's so much better on PC in terms of graphics and gameplay. Like others have mentioned before, many maps are scaled down on consoles.

Most maps I get 20 something kills. The only one where 10kills is normal is operation firestorm, map is terrible

Well, that's a matter of perspective I think, really.

On-Topic - I think that too much is made over the 24 player cap for consoles. As with any group, the more capacity you have for people, the greater the percentage-chance that a number of them are ****s. As long as things like vehicle availability and basic hot-spots are available in a given console map, then there's no reason to cry foul or avoid it - And if you don't have a PC that's beast enough to run it reeeeaaally well, then console might be your only alternative... And to that end, I wouldn't avoid the game simply on the grounds of "smaller" maps or "less" activity per match.

Now that people have begun to make studies of hot-spots and activity on a given map, I'm amazed at the lack of used space even in a CoD game (sorry to brig up the other franchise in this thread). There are great open patches of land that go predominantly un-used on any given game map. So in a sense, the player cap is giving the go-ahead for trimming of the fat. Not that a sniper couldn't do with a few extra hundred yards, or a pilot use every last bit of airspace... But you see what I'm sayin'?

If this kind of thing (Cap'n'Hold gameplay) is your thing, then it's hard to argue with so many people having a good time on the game, and the support it will no-doubt recieve over the next few years.

I would say if you like this, buy this.

:)

And I ain't even a player.

But, y'know, Party On.

I bought it yesterday for 30 bucks from best buy but didn't open it and then I decided to return it afer some thought. I played the beta and I understand that is not the final game but I just wasn't crazy about the mp in BF3. I mean it was fun for a while but it got kinda old. Dying from some dude who is camping on the other side of the map with and sniper and then you have to have to run back to that some spot only to die again from out of nowhere is annoying.

Battlefield has vehicles, and you can spawn on squad... so why are you "running"? And back to the same spot to-boot? Seriously. If the sniper just killed you, and you don't know wehre he was shooting from, does it makes sense to run right back into his scope of view again?

I do agree some of the maps are terrible though. Not nearly as good as Bad Company 2 maps (or certainly older Battlefield games), but not as bad as some of DICE's Medal of Honor maps either...still the game is definitely worth getting if you are like me and can't play it on your PC.

I'm a Battlefield vet, played all the games of the series online on pc and I do enjoy Battlefield 3 on the ps3. I have also played the beta on the pc and while that ofcourse is a superior experience the PS3 versions is a lot of fun aswell and certainly worth getting. Even though there are fewer people in a match it never feels empty or boring.

Conquest sometimes feel likes a wasteland, but the other modes give me that "battlefield" vibe.

I am in no means an expert when it comes to Battlefield, but I do have experience playing a few of their games; specifically BF: Bad Company 2 - On line. I have played four missions on the main campaign, and thus far I have been seriously disappointed. The last mission I played was DISAPPOINTING! It was the mission with the F-18, where you ride as the navigator/gunner. My buddy actually fell asleep waiting for the mission to end. Ha! I am not bashing the game, I just expected more from Battlefield. In no way am I going to stop playing. I just have other games I am going to complete (Assassins Creed, Batman) before I go back and complete BF3. I haven't had the opportunity to play online yet, which I will sooner or later. This is only my opinion though ...

I would assume they would account for this and scale the maps down a bit. I don't really know just an assumption here... I suppose if you don't mind the graphics part of it sure. If they scale the maps down a bit to account for the less people and action part maybe...but it just feels like your getting less of a product if you get it for the PS3 for me. If your pc can run it...of course get it there...I played the beta and it was alright but overall decided PC was the way to go.
