Hi there

I recently picked up a ps3 for Assassins Creed and GTA4 and a few other games but I am curious to know what Guitar Hero is like since I have never tried a GH game before on any other console. What I am really interested in knowing is, is it a fun game to play solo? Can I just sit on the couch and play some cool songs without breaking my hand and is it easy to get into? I read the review and from what it said I kind of got a bad feeling about just how decent it is.

Is it something that has a lot of replay value also?

Id really like to hear some opinions of what its like for a total newbie to the rhythm game market (only played Elite Beat Agents on the DS)

Any thought would be appreciated..

I also looked at Rock Band but I dont have other people to play it with so I am guessing that kind of makes it pretty sucky

I had never played a GH game before and bought GH3 and really liked it. However, I got Rockband and I haven't even touched GH3 since. Even if you're playing alone, it's still really fun. The tracklist is great IMO and more importantly, the downloadable content is MUCH better on Rockband and it keeps the game fresh. I would definitely get Rockband.

Me too, I haven't played any GH game. I only played it on in-store display. I wanna purchase it but I wanna have the full size guitar. LoL.

The guitar hero/rock band games are really fun dont get me wrong, but since you will be playing them through solo mode you are probably better off getting a game consisting of a different genre. Its one of those games people get just to tell all there friends and occasionally play by there self.

I think you might get a couple days out of it but after that you will realize you could have spent your money on something different. Again it is fun but look for another game that looks interesting to you.

Actually I should state that my flatmate will play it with me. Does Rockband come with the Guitar or do you need to buy it seperatly?

Also is there somewhere that has song listings for both games? And how does Rock Band go as far as being easy for new people to play?

Here's the Rockband Songs: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_songs_in_Rock_Band

They release new songs every thursday (in the US) on the PSN. GH3 new songs are much more sporadic. Rockband comes with the guitar, microphone, and drum set.

When you buy the rock band bundle for 179$ it comes with everything you need (for 179$ it damn well better:shock:) and its relatively easy for beginners, you will find out real quick how much rythym you have. And im sure you can just google for the track listings of each game.

I think Guitar Hero 3 is generally easier, but if you play 3 first and then get the other ones you will realize that on the games before Guitar Hero 3 you have to be more accurate and you have a smaller time frame in which to hit the notes.

I really don't think so; I think people think that GH3 is easier because they cut their teeth on the first two. GH3 is actually significantly harder than the other games in my opinion, it's just that you already knew how to play when you picked it up. Rockband is the easiest of all of them.
