It's still a great time to buy a PS3. So many games to play. As for exclusives, the Uncharted, Infamous, Killzone, and Resistance series are great along many others. Really depends on what kind of games you are looking for, and it would probably be better to research that part for yourself instead of strangers trying to guess what games you would like to play.

No, there are quite a few exclusives worth checking out (make sure you find some that look interesting to you first though), and a some more good games coming out for it in the future.

It's the best time honestly. It's going to be at least two years before the PS4, and in the meantime you have a laundry list of current and upcoming quality exclusives. Go for it.

It is great time to buy a PS3. Even if you have a 360, the PS3 has more than enough great exclusives alone to justify the purhase of one, you could easily build up a good library off of PS3 exclusives alone. And you can get multiplats on PS3 if you do not have them for 360 if you wanted, PS3 multiplats look and play identical to 360 versions aside from a few rare cases.

Also free online gaming, you can't beat that. Here is a good guide to get you started on it: PS3 - Buying the System - Buyer's Guide - IGN

You need to play Uncharted though, it is amazing.

Now is a perfect time to buy one specially because sony is releasing all of these collections of games that took years to come out and basically make up the bulk of the console's library

No, not late at all. Sony is currently releasing quite a few collections which include 2-3 games bundled in for lower price which is fantastic for saving money. There are few more good exclusives on the way for PS3 as well: Beyond, God of War: Ascension, Last of Us and so forth.

This is what I would do:

  • Pick up a used PS3 off craigstlist, test it etcs before buying it... I've seen tons of 360s and ps3s online for dirt cheap, and people are just throwing in their game collections for next to nothing.
  • Don't buy too many peripherals, just play the playstation exlcusives until the next generation has started. Here's a list of none 360 games that you will love:

Killzone 3- you can download this games online and play for free to start and then pay $15 or something to keep going.

Littlebigplanet 2- if you like to have friends over to play games, or just want to check out some cool user made levels with online gamers, this one is for you.

Uncharted 1/2/3- great series, crown jewel of this generation.

Metal gear collection and MGS4- great series, awesome story.

I agree only if you aren't getting a ps4 when it comes out or soon there after, I personally would wait for the ps4 assuming it is coming out next year.

Actually it´s a great time.. good games, PSN never better, Home is huge.

There is plenty of games you MUST play... MGS4 (old but gold), GT5, Uncharted (trilogy), GOW 1, 2 HD and 3, and many other ones...

The PS3 is generally considered to have the most exclusives which will give you plenty of games you've never played before to enjoy so like everyone else I'd say get one.

Hope you didn't buy it yet, Sony's unveiling a new, super slim model with price cut in about a week (TGS 2012). Should be out before October, that's my time to upgrade from my broken launch unit.

www.gametrailers and search vids on games you would be interested in. And there's still about 3 years to go before PS4.

If you really have time to play a lot of games I would, but if you only get to play them from time to time I'd just stick with the xbox. Let me explain before I get flamed. My wife bought me a ps3 about 6 months back and now my 360 sits dormant about 99% of the time. I play my ps3 the most, but now I don't play my 360 which makes having the two consoles seem silly. I prefer my ps3, but seeing as I don't have a lot of time for gaming, I think having either/or would suffice. But that's just in my case, and honestly I only get to play games on weekends and most of the time only after our son goes to bed. I do agree with most people on here though, if you do get one you really have a huge list of great exclusives to dive into, and most of them are dirt cheap now.

I bought one just at the beginning of this summer. Definitely worth it. God of War saga, Uncharted trilogy, Tales of Graces F, Yakuza 4, PS2 collections, PS1 games off the store... I'm enjoying it and I'm never one to buy a console right at launch so if PS4 released even this Fall it wouldn't bother me at all.

Plus there are still a good bit of games I plan on picking up for it. Valkryia Chronicles, Heavy Rain, Demon's Souls, inFamous collection are the most prominent. Plus Last of Us will probably end up being the first game I ever preorder, really can't wait for it.

It's a great time to buy a PS3, they are cheaper now and there are a HUGE range of games to play on the system. Sony also recently released a bunch of bundles of their exlusives.. God of War Saga, Infamous collection etc.

I'd say get one but maybe hold off until Black Friday. You're more than likely to score a better deal and it's not that far away.

100% agreed. choosing a console depends on the amount of time you would spend on it. if you are young enough like a high school boy or a student you can take both. But when you go to work it's a disaster if you both want to entertain and earn living. of course it depends on your career, blabla.

i have ps3 for nearly a year with almost 20 ps3 games but actually ve beaten 5 out of them, of course not full of trophies only story modes. exclusive ones certainly like GOW series, U2... when i looked that pile of disks i got crazy feelings about playing them but fact is i don't have time for all. it's like you see a lot of girls in the street but actually you just drop your jaw off with out a damn action with them. a feeling of impotence.

but the stupid mind still drives me into keeping buying some others worthy. but i bet i could only fulfill my damn collection of games bought for watching and catching up with the trend.

and man, just buy something really worthy a price. like Super_maribro said many gone cheap thesedays.
