I'd say it's worth it.

NO!! PSP Causes a weird Disease called "keepsyouaddictedpspsycoma" its a very common disease with people that owns a PSP... It starts out when you buy your Psp.. BAM.. Then, you take it home, open it out of the  box, charge it for 2 hours, Put in a umd..then.. Oh no... Here it comes... YOUR BRAIN Gets TOTALLY into the game..... Your in a coma for days playing a game.... Finally.. you wake up.. Then you downloadf Game demos,Music,Videos,Pictures onto your psp, And Dammit if your not in another coma...i wouldnt consider DS either.. it causes a even worst disease called "OMFGthisdamthingsucks"ArkansasBoy91

Of course. The PSP is probably the greatest handheld ever made, and still continues to be.

Other then gaming, and gamesharing (Playing multiplayer on a game you dont even have with a friend), you have videos, music, pictures, free wireless internet, ( YOu can online game with your PSP pretty much anywhere), internet browsing, kick*** attachments such as a video camera that works smooth as butter on your PSP, and a whole lot more.

Your first 2-3 games id reccomend:

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (Probably cheap now, can get it for around $10-20) (Kickass multiplayer /w a friend/s)

Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops (Online)

Socom: Fireteam Bravo 2 (Online)

The PSP is an awesoem device , and your first games schould be :

Daxter , Tekken DR , Ratchet & Clank Size Matters and MPO :D

Check it out i originally got a psp just for the games & i got like 28 games since last christmas BUT i was kinda getting bored with it:| So i bought me an 8GB pro duo & managed to shove 12GB mpeg(converted to mpeg4) into that card yay!

Now anywhere i go i'm carrying you-tube with me8)

I would not reccomend asking this question on this particular board....seeing as how it is the "PSP board", most people that post in here own a PSP, and enjoy it enough to go online and discuss it on a board designated "The PSP board".  The chances of you getting an answer that is not biased it slim to none. For instance someone already made a crack about the DS being crap, even though they probably haven't played it. So my reccomendation is to go to the System Wars board *UGH!* and ask this, or maybe ask for some of the specs of the PSP, instead of asking a horde of PSP lovers if the PSP is a good purchase... :)

I have to disagree to some extent, especially on the bolded part. There's nothing to be gained by going to the convergence point of some of the worst fanboys on these forums and asking the question.

This is indeed the board to ask the question. It's just the phrasing of the question that should be changed by adding a "Why" in front of the question. Based on the information people will give you, that person can then go research what they've learned on their own and see if the PSP tickles their fancy.

yes u should get it its awesome...wat cant u do with it .......its great..games i lack games but i love socom FTB 1 i might get 2 from a friend for my b day and i heard great things about GTA and MGS OP aaaa sports games r good i like them for psp but i suck a games like i like weird stuff idk if  its me but hey someone else might be able 2 help u and dont forget 2 get a 2 or 4 gb memory stick u will need it if u like musik and videos and stuff =)

Yes I know. That's why I said the question should have been posed in the form of "Why"  and not in the form of "is or is not".

Unfortunately, it's a little late for that now. So the best way for the TC to go about this is to judge who to take seriously by whether they were able to form a coherent paragraph. With that in mind, It shouldn't take the TC long to see that A_FITZ's answer is pretty much the best one to go off of.
