is it harmful to turn off the ps3 from the back after your done playing.

 

eg: after im done, i just use the back switch to turn the ps3 off, while the game is still on?

Bad idea that can eff up your playstaion, just use the ps button and turn off the system then turn the switch in the back off

I think it's better to put the PS3 in standby first and then switch it off at the back.

Apparently it can scratch the hard drive because it does not give the hard drive proper time to shut down. It says it in the manual to turn it off the PS button method, then turn off the red swith only when the system is in standby.

I read that on shutdown the PS3 dumps the firmware and cleans up any junk files...and that doing a quick shotdown via the rear switch can cause the firmware to corrupt...

i was wondering that.

 

im just broke my 2nd ps3. i am waiting for sony to send a new one. i wont turn on and when i try  it:

goes green for a sec

then starts blinking red continously.

 

so u think this is wat did it?
