You jump to conclusions too quickly there buddy. I have played Age of Mythology, and I wish I hadn't. That game was awful comared to Age of Empires III and its expansion packs. Yes the greeks in the game worshipped at the temple for favor, yet the Norse could only gain through battle. Computer character bloodshed in the name of the gods, does that bother you? Did you forget about the precious god powers? Because earthquakes and meteors and lightning storms, all show how vengeful and powerful the ancient people THOUGHT gods were. They prayed to them out of fear so that they would not earn their wrath, but instead their protection and guidance.
Age of Mythology is crap, sorry chief. Use a better game as your frame of reference from now on. I had such high hopes for it too after the amazing ness that was Age of Empires III

Your comment "I'm sure they had plenty of sacrifice in Age of Mythology" led me to beleive that. You need not prove that you played it.just say and I'll trust.:P And besides, you think I'll surely not like Dante's inferno. So I am not the only one jumping to conclusions here.
Well leaving the story of GOW2 & 3 were crap IMO and note I say the STORY,nothing else. The story of Age of Mythology is far more superior than 'em if I consider the premise and not the genre. And frankly the version of Age of Empires 3 I liked the most was the mobile version.:P AOE III was that boring.Story was insipid, few choices of factions and overall though a technological marvel and work of art, felt too much of a step down from AOE II.Not that AoE III is a great game for reference either in my books (though I liked it).
Some people who posted also felt GOW 1 was where the story was novel whcih went downhill since GOWII.If you oppose that well that's your opinion and that' that.No hard feelings.
