Is it okay to leave the ps3 on over night. I have a week between today and buying my first game so to entertain me, i wanted to leave it on overnight to download a few demos.

I'm like fatcat, I often leave it folding over night. I think the longest time I went was something like 30 hours, folding overnight, folding while I was at work, then came home and played for some hours, then went back to folding overnight again. Just keep the area around your ps3 clear so the it can ventilate and stay as cool as possible. The room mine is in has tiles and in the basement so it's cool, especially in winter right now so it acts as a small heater at times

The only time I turn my PS3 off is when I want to move it to another location or there is a sever thunderstorm close by and it works just as good as day one. This may be one reason I never have a problem with updates or downloads because the hardware is never really stressed form heating and cooling.
