is it worth it now?

right now, in 2010 and halfway through the year, after consoles have been out for so long, would it be worth it to buy a ps3? or a 360? i have a wii now, which has some great games, but im tired of getting jipped on great games that wont be ported over to the wii because of the wiis...well...stangeness (uniqueness) and poor graphics. i dont play all that much, but every few months a game comes out for the ps3 or 360 that im furious i cant buy and play without going to a friends.

thoughts?

of course it would be worth it to buy a ps3 right now. they are very cheap because of the slim versions and there are many great bundles to choose from now.

yeah its worth it. especially with the fact that you can get a ps3 for only $300 now and its not like the ps3 doesn't have at least another 5 years if not more left until it get old and a new gen comes out

Yes it's worth it. The PS3 will be around for a long time, also so many games out now. :)

Either a 360 or PS3 is worth it as there is a huuuuuge backlog of great game for both consoles, as this is a PS3 thread though I'd reccomend a PS3.

If you can, wait for Black Friday. For the last 2 years the bundle deals have been ridiculous! Almost made me mad that I had already owned one lol.

Example: last BF wal-mart was selling the 120 gig slim with infamous, batman aa, and the dark knight on blu ray, all for the price of just the console!

Wait a lil longer, the real deals are coming.

Yes, you need a PS3 right now!

In my humble opinion, the PS3 is currently the best console to own thanks to the abundance of high quality first party titles. Plus, you get a blu-ray player with it, so yeah, it's worth it.

Both systems have great library of games, in fact I purchased Xbox 360 just few weeks ago. The benefit of buying console in this cycle of their lifespan is that you get majority of the games for extremely low price.

I do consider PS3 to be bit better value wise when it comes to complete package. Look at the games list and decide from there. :)

my suggestion to you my friend is that get a PS3 ,why? because PS3 slim is out the original PS3 is cheaper and you can play god of war 3,and GT5.

It is worth it now more than ever. All the newly released games are looking great, and all of the older games are now hitting that $20 to $30 price, which is perfect. If you buy a PS3 now, I highly doubt you will regret it.

People really need to stop saying that the new gen is not coming out for 5 years or more and such. The new gen will come out ABOUT 3 years from now. The ps3 will be supported for another 6 to 7 though. Buy the PS3 NOW! amazing system with amazing games. You still have a few years till the new consoles come out im sure, so I say get it.

Yes it is extremely worth it, particularly for the PS3. I bought mine about a year ago (just before the slims came out) and don't regret it a bit. There's so many awesome games out now and upcoming it's hard to find the time to play them all.

Yes you should get it. I only had a Wii too but when the PS3 dropped to 300$ I bought it and I am loving it.

Nah, it's far too early for new consoles. Graphical development hasn't really gone as far in the past few years, simply because developers are focusing more on physics and whatnot. I think the next generation of consoles will have nearly the same graphics, but better support for more advanced physics engines.

Sony and Microsoft aren't going to bring out motion controls for their current systems only to come out with a brand new system a year later or so. You should get one of the current systems now. There are plenty of games at low prices for both systems.

You can pick up hits like Uncharted 1, Ratchet and Clank Tools of Destruction, Resistance 1 and 2, Infamous, Killzone 2, Socom Confontation, Grand Theft Auto 4, Warhawk, and so on for $30 or less. Burnout Paradise is what $20.

It doesn't have to be a hit per se. You can get quite a bit a games that are good to have for $30 or less.

Save up an extra hundred and get a PS3 with like 3 or 4 games.
