I wanted to get into this but I was busy with SOCOM and Uncharted 2. Do people play with mics in MAG?wstfldYes of course.
I wanted to get it on release but couldn't afford it. Its cheap now and I still want it but theres no point in me getting it. Going away for 3 months soon.
I'll get it when I get back, I'm looking forward to team based play rather than the usual lone ranger thing.
MAG flopped in the beta. It's like a poor man's imitation of Battlefield...
Besides, did anybody really expect a game who's only selling point/claim was "256 players online!" to succeed?

I was under the impression that MAG was a success. Maybe not a monumental success, but it hosts a large community of players.
I always knew MAG would not be as good as everyone said it would be. I remember when it was first announced and knew right from then it would stink, and I was right, I played the beta and hated it :) all my opinion of course.MAG was a complete flop ever since it came out inmy opinion :|

It should have launched at that price. I made a thread about that a while ago. It's essentially one mode of play that is contingent on too many other factors out of the player's control. Just single player is worth $60 but I don't feel like that about just multiplayer.Chaos_BladezYes. Especially now right after we witnessed the die hard nature of Halo 2. These online only games will shut down eventually and then the game will be useless. At least halo2 has a single player mode so those people who had it can still get some use out of it. I doubt I'll pay anything more than $15 for an online only game. It just doesn't have the value of a game with a single player component.
I rented MAG and thought it was a lot of fun. Besides the above reason, I didn't keep it because it didn't have custom soundtracks and the online wasn't very stable; it was sometimes very hard to just get the game started.
ehhh game was generic, I didnt like the gameplay and the way it felt, i did like how there was no auto aim though, but i like BFBC2 much much more.

I love MAG more then MW2 but its not nearly as addicting and the gun and explosions graphics dont look that great. Although the ground, walls, and character models look better then MW2.
I dont play it anymore since I accidently deleted my raven character =(
After reading this topic and checking out the link I decided to go to my local gamestop and grab a copy to try it out. They are still selling it at 49.99. I checked gamestop.com last night and it was listed at 29.99 but I just checked when I got home and its back up to 49.99. Any ideas on when this is supposed to take effect? I am interested in trying it, but I am on a budget atm so I don't want to spend 50 bucks for it to come down to 30 a week later.
I feel 50/50. On the negetative side, Zipper Should've focused SOCOM 4 much more, but the good thing is that people can now try this game out.
Yeah, it should be a requirement to have a brain in order to post in System Wars. Like I posted in another thread with the same link - which is probably where you got this from - according to this article, MAG sold 500,000 copies. That was back in February, too.if you actually bought the game, you would know it has a quite large community. i like the game.

You should've at least read the posts in that thread. Someone even pointed out that this was a 1-day sale(or until 1,000 copies were sold) on Gamestop. Unless it's getting an official price drop soon, you won't be able to get it for $30.
MAG isn't really 29.99...It's a online Gamestop deal. In the local stores it's still 44.99.. I called them and checked...Young_CharterIt was an online deal, along with God of War 3 for $35, Bioshock 2 for $25 and maybe a few other games. It's gone now.

I did the math. Each seperate screen on a 1080p television would be 4 by 7 pixels.
LMAO!! I really am laughing!!! It came to a point that a girl hung up in my ear lol LOLOLOL[QUOTE="canoecamue"]At first, I was like, "Why the 60 cents?" You clever bastard. Hehehe I trixed you. ;PIt should be sold for 25.6 dollars

Well, if you take into account that many call MAG a "generic" shooter and that other people say that FPSs these days are a dime a dozen, you can infer that MAG's price should be calculated by dividing the number of total players by 12 and then multiplying that number by $0.10.
So...
Therefore, we can infer that $2.14 is the appropriate price for MAG. 8)
Haha, this is like that picture I have saved in my computer:

cmon all you "ps3" supporters....this game is awesome. its a steal @ $30.

Yeah but that was a temporary pricepoint, it went back up. The game is awesome and the more people the better especially with this game. When your squad only has 4 people on it you wish that anyone would at least join even if they're not that good (obviously as bait, mwahaha...)

First off, if the price went down and then back up it's called a sale which we all know stores have. Second, this game isn't for people who like to run around like in modern warfare 2. Its about teamwork and concentrating your force on one area. HOW MANY FIRST PERSON SHOOTERS HAVE 256 PLAYERS GOING AT IT?!?!? 1 THATS ALL. Half of you probably dont even own this game or a PS3. Its not MW2 so get over it. Stop Bulls***ing about your killstreaks due to lag. Mag has no lag cuz no 1 player is host. Zipper Int. has been around longer than IW so they know what theyre doing. They just put a twist on first person shooter, thats all.[QUOTE="Zidaneski"][QUOTE="hawk549"]

Why the bump?

Seriously, I gotta agree... Why did you revive a thread from two months ago??? I don't mean to sound like a cop, but this kind of thing is generally frowned upon around here unless you had a good reason (I saw an ancient thread revived but it was about predictions for games to be released and it really WAS entertaining to read what had actually come to pass after all the time gone by). There doesn't seem to be any point to your revival other than to tell people off... the trouble with that being, that there wasn't anyone around.
In the future if you would like to discuss the game or it's competition on the market make a new thread... revivals can be misinterpretted as intentionally being obnoxious to see who bites, or "trolling".
Capiche?
:)
Price has nothing to do with it, but the game really never reached top tier status in the first place.wooooodeI think it presented itself wrong, teh fact that the war never stops and keeps going turns me off, and the fact that I herd that it puts the top players on one side and bad players on the other, that seems lopsided..
