Now remove MGS4 from MGO and what have you got?
Man, not everybody have access to high speed internet connection. Anyone who owns the console technically has access to offline gaming which is single player. Get it? In games, single player should be worked on the most and make sure that the single player has ALOT of replayabilities and not just rely on the online. And to answer your question, MGO was never part of the Metal Gear saga, and you just can't remove MGS4 from MGO because the series was frickin based on the single player. I'd like other developers to create the single player first and do it really well with a respectable storyline that is at least a bit interesting instead of just upgrading graphics and creating the multiplayer side of the game which ALOT might not have access to. That's why PS1 days are still the best unfortunately.
I like single and multiplayer and I don't think either should be focused on over the other, I agree that they tried to make a singleplayer game into a multiplayer with MGO and I don't think it turned out that well, though MGO can be a lot of fun I find it annoying to play most of the time and I can remove MGS4 from MGO all I want since you can remove online from online only games.
Most people enjoy online gaming and thats what keeps people interested in a game for along time so don't just dismiss it because not everybody has a high speed internet connection.
why would you want to remove mgs4 from mgo......
mgs4 is my fav game at the moment but maybe that will change in the future :) :D
no. more movie than a game. unfortunately. i had big hopes for it. sciteach256Considering you just said that, it makes your opinion completely wrong. Get your facts straight.

Agreed.
i dunno. i love MGS, andMGS4 is great and all, but the game system itself is a bit limited IMHO. it had an epic premisse about all the figthing and all, but in the end you do an awful lot of whatching. i know it is part of the experience, but it is a bit tiring after a while. i loved the game, but i have already played3 other MGS games already. it didn´t throw much new stuff (i wish they´d have made the game a bit longer, with a lot more fighting. those mechanics were great)
i´d say that the 4 games that impacted me the most this gen were MGS, Dead Space, Call of Duty (4 and WAW) and GTA4. but MGS4. so itis hard to place a favorite.
oh and Motorstorm is just awesome.
Yes it is my favorite PS3 game but not my favorite MGS game that would be MGS3.Star650What he said ^ r2 comes close 2nd :p
Yes it is. Easily to be honest. Nothing came close this year to MGS4. MGS4 was the biggest sequel to one of the biggest franchises in gaming history. It ended the story of "Solid" Snake ultimately well. The whole experience was totally perfect and satisfying to the max. The only "con" I see in the game much like what GameSpot reviewer said about it too was that it "ended". I really didn't want the game or the series to just end. It's just not right and I hope Kojima does MGS5 and announce a sequel SOON. I got used to wait for the next MGS and I want that to happen one more time. To be honest, MGS is what kept me playing video games all those years. All the other games are either the same old FPS or some repetitive adventures with lame stories. I really want all the other developers to forget about the damn multiplayer and and forget about upgrading the damn graphics in games and start creating "games" not just showcase what the PS3 can do. I want them to create awesome stories that will be mentioned years from now, I want them to expand our imaginations like Hideo Kojima did with his awesome story twists and morals. The man is a legend and should be the reference for storytelling and cutscenes direction. The Metal Gear franchise is truly epic. Seriously though, game developers should show us what they can do and how far they can go with storylines and not just worry about the damn graphics and putting all their damn hardwork on the damn multiplayer. They need to consider that many many gamers out there don't have access to HIGH speed internet connection. MGS4 and other MGS games replayabilities aren't found in their online components, they're found in the single player mode. Metal Gear games never needed online to be honest.
One question, how would have the following games turned out if they didn't have online components?
-COD4
-Halo series
-Resistance1 and 2
-Gears of War
-Warhawk
-World of Warcraft
etc...............Now remove MGO from MGS4, how is that going to affect MGS4??? Get the point? Thank you byebye.

I agree 100% with you, Metal Gear Series has always had replay value, without even having any kind of multiplayer mode.
Now... even though MGS4 is awesome, and the best PS3 game so far... MG3 was the best, followed by MPO,

Mine is probably a tie between LBP, Heavenly Sword, and Uncharted.
LBP is probably my favorite right now.
