I have xbox360, the Wii, and now I am thinking of getting a PS3. Is it worth it? How do you like your system?

Does anyone have both systems, 360 & PS3, which do you play more?

Plus am wonderingif anyone can tell me the differences between the 40GB, 60GB, and the80GB. Can I play ps2 on the 40/60 GB or is that only the 80?

Without the shadow of a doubt, PS3 is the best of all three consoles. And the 60 GB is the top of the line, because it has the emotion engine chip for maximum backward compatibility.

I have all 3 systems and the PS3 is a great buy. The 40gb is the only unit that will not play PS2 games, the80gb will play most titles. Unless your concerned with backwards compatibility, I would purchase the 40gb and buy a game. Sony only has a few exclusives released, while the other titles are multiplatform. R&C, Uncharted and UT3 are great games to mention. I would research the consoles and games before you make a final decision. The titles lined up for 2008 will validate your purchase.

I don't know if this question can be honestly answered. I have a 360 and a PS3 and I play my 360 more. Why? Because most multiplatform games are better on 360, but that can change. I like the rumble in the controller, but that will change. I like achievements, but Home could change that. And in general I like the 360 controller better.

I also think that this year was a better year for the 360 in terms of exclusives (good ones anyway) and multiplatform games, so this year the 360 gets my vote. But as I said, with Home, Dual Shock 3, more exclusives, Killzone, MGS4 and hopefully more solid 3rd party titles 2008 could be Sony's year.

I personally like the PS3 better as a physical unit and I also like the interface of the XMB over the 360 interface, but Xbox Market Place is still better than the Sony store. The PS3 is a better DVD player than the 360 and the built in Blu Ray has made me shift my Hi Def focus away from HD DVD.

If you can afford to get a PS3, then get one. I can't tell you which is better.

But what I CAN tell you is you should take comments like "Without the shadow of a doubt, PS3 is the best of all three consoles" and throw them in the trash because they reek of fanboyism. There is not one system that is head and shoulders better than the other.

I have both the 360 and the PS3.

It's not about how good the system is. It's the games. Both systems are more than capable of playing incredible games.

Exclusives are becoming far and between as Game Developers are tying to make as much profit from their product as possible. One fact still remains... There will always be some exclusive content.

So now you must ask yourself. As a gamer, do I want to have access to all exclusive content in gaming? If the answer is yes, then you would benefit from having both systems.

The other advantage you have is comparing the game on both systems and choosing the best one. Some games are designed initially for the 360 and the PS3 port is not that great. Some games are designed for the PS3 and the 360 port may not be that great. Most games are designed for both systems from the start, but the particular Developer may be better at programing for one vs. the other.

Having both systems will allow you to choose the better version of the game. Another consideration is your friends. If some of your friends have only one system and you want to play with them on-line. You may choose the version of the game for the system they have. If your friends have both systems, then you just need to all agree on what version of a particular game you guys are going to get, in order to play on-line with each other.

Always remember that true gamers are not loyal to any system. They are loyal to games. Having multiple systems gives you an advantage.

One day, I may break down and get a Wii, but it's just not my type of gaming system. I am too lazy to be swinging a controller around for every single game. But it may be the best party system if you are older friends like me. :-) All my friends are in their upper 20's or lower 30's. I am 35 and have been gaming since Pong.

Now let me shift over to what version of the PS3 to get.

You only have two choices today. The 20GB and 60GB versions are not made anymore unless you find one at ebay or somewhere else.

The 40GB and 80GB are your two choices.

The 40GB and 80GB are equally great PS3's, but the 80GB model has backward playability of PS2 games through software emulation. It also has two more USB ports and the media card reader. That's it. The 40GB version has 2 USB ports instead of 4. They removed the media card reader and there is no PS2 software emulation.

You must decide what is best for you. Forget about the hard drive size because they can be replaced very easy with a 250GB Hard Disk. Think about how you would use the PS3.

I have a PS2 slim, so I don't care about the backward compatability. I run my PS3, PS2 and 360 on the same TV. I don't care about the media card readers because I don't have enough devices that I would use them on. I can simply plug in any device with a USB port and copy my music, pictures and video over to the Hard Drive. I won't do this much, so it's not a big deal to me.

I decided on the 40GB version because I already have a PS2 and I don't use media cards. Two USB ports is plenty and you can always attach a hub if you needed more.

The one advantage of the 40GB version that most people miss is the CPU. The 40GB version uses the new 65nm chip vs. the 95nm chip found in the 80GB version. What does that mean? The 40GB version will run cooler and quiet. It does not make the CPU any faster, but just more energy efficient and running cooler could mean it will last longer.

So now it's up to you. Think about how you would use it and what is the most important to you. Saving the extra $100 on my 40GB version allowed me to get two games for it. :-)

wow i didnt expect to see comments like this in this thread, good smart comments. but i did see a few i expected to see like the one u already mentioned about "without a shadow of a doubt..." and "ps3 all the way". but im pretty much the same as this guy. i have both systems and honestly i play my 360 more but like this guy said, its because most of their good exclusives came out this year. and next year is when ps3's big games are comin out so ill most likely be playing it more. so really u cant go wrong with any of the systems. after all is said and done, each system will have a good library of games with big time exclusives. . so yeah if ur like me, and u want to play all the good games, than u should get a ps3 so u dont miss out on some of their exclusives

I have a 60 gig and the big thing that I liked is that when I took it out of the box everything I was wanting in a console was there in a nice neat package. It was the only system that had a HD player (Blu-Ray), DVD player with upscaler, wireless controller, BC capabilities that has been getting better as time goes on, and wifi built in that has worked great for me so far.

And now with some of the latest firmware updates features have been added like remote play with your own PSP via a internet hotspot, improved upscaler for PS2 games has been added within the past few months, upgraded software for the Blu-Ray player that puts the player back to the high end player now, with the latest F@H update you can listen to some soothing music while your PS3 is folding protiens that could help mankind find cures for diseases at the same time, and the fact that HOME is on it's way (although we may already have some of the software already downloaded to releave some of the preasure that will be on the system when HOME is released.

This is the things that I found that made the PS3 well worth the money spent.

Smart question mate, especially in PS3 forums ;)

If you even played and enjoyed any of PlayStation previous titles, PS3 is a no brainier. If not, do a little self research. No one can help you there.

Every console has it's advantages and disadvantages. The real question is: what console is best for me? For me it came down to which exclusives I could and couldn't live without. Almost 2 decades of playing metal gear and FF pretty much cinched it for me. The high def player was icing on the cake.

As long as you can live without Halo and Bioshock, and you need Final Fantasy and MGS then there's no question.
