Socom's online community is larger than any other exclusive ps3 game. Even games that were released after confrontation died down, but socom is still very active. I myself have put in 240 hours in socom confrontation, and i will continue to play it till socom 4.

Correct, the Sony Blog has been bragging that for a while. Socom is the only game on the ps3 that has the highest return rate in its community.

Just because a lot of people play it, doesn't mean its good. I wouldn't go and buy Socom based on its community. IMO there are a LOT of shooters you would be better off buying.

.

... uuuuunnnless 'SOCOM' is what the poster wants? What would be a "better" game choice, then? Keep in mind that 'SOCOM' is a military, tactical-based TPS. What's the better military, tactical-based TPS that rates better?

A more appropriate question would be "What other tactical-based TPS are there?" :P Its hard to be "better" when there isn't any competition.

Although barley any TTPS exist, I still could think of Metal Gear Online (rated 8.0 criticto 9.0 user), which despite its reputation, STILL beat SOCOM (6.7 critic to 7.6 user) and that itself says a lot.

Anyways the TC stated "...its kinda old and there are lots of shooters will it really be worth me buying it?" so its not he's sold on tactical TPS anyways. He sounds like he's asking for options.

Is it worth it? I guess if you are looking for an incredibly cheap and old tactical TPS that begins with an "S" and ends with a "M" then yeah, get it.

If you are open to any other tactical shooter out there, almost anything is better than SOCOM. You've played SOCOM for 4 months and if its getting old to you, I would suggest you spend your money elsewhere. Check out the Tom Clancy games or even BFBC2 for more bang for your buck.

It has a decent community its great for mics and teamwork but I think it is usually between 2-5 thousand people on. Many clans have dissipated because it is starting to die but I still enjoy playing it. I would recommend getting into a clan so you have a constant group to play with and it helps as well as making it more fun.

Hopefully, it's better than that horrendous trash called MGS 4. Such an overrated and terrible game. I have no idea how that game got 10's everywhere. I played it. It was nothing special. Extremely boring. It's the first 10 rated game that I absolutely hated. Actually, it was the first good rated game that I hated.

My point exactly... And the Tom Clancy games are a ghost town, I assume you are talking about "Rainbow 6 Vegas" or "GRAW", neither of which currently boasts near the community that a die-hard like "SOCOM" has. Stop being so defensive and actually think about what the TC is asking for instead of steering them to a potentially incorrect purchase... "Battlefield BC2" is a FPS so it doesn't actually apply here, unfortunately, because I agree that it's a stronger game all around... but incorrect. And the Tom Clancy games would be great if anyone still played, but they really sorta don't. So "SOCOM", being very cheap, yet rabidly populated, no matter what you may personally think of the game prior to patching and several years after most reviews were posted, is the correct game to suggest.

Sorry about the phrasing of my question making you feel so cornered.
