Is the ethernet cable supposed to come with the PS3?

I just got my PS3 yesterday and I am trying to sign up to Playstation Network, but I can't because I don't have an ethernet cable. Is it supposed to come with the PS3, or be bought seperate?

There is a small length of ethernet cable included (unless they took this out with the Slim, I had it with the old original launch model) but it was really too short to be of much use.lyndonAPI

Nup, the slim does not come with an ethernet cable, seeing it offers wireless :D Anyways, the cable will only cost $4 so no biggie, eh?

I didn't get a ethernet cable with my 80GB PS3 I didn't need one as I already had and have a wireless router. I'm pretty sure you can get ethernet cables cheap anyway.
